My wife needs new tires and I am thinking about getting her some MTRs. I was going to run a 245/65 with the Frankinlift. How good are these tires in the rain and what type of wear should we expect? I want her to get a good tire that will have good traction on road in the wet and dry and a good tire off road. Thanks for your help, also do the Rubicon wheels bolt up and fit without rubbing? Thanks again!! |

The MT/R isn't the best tire in the snow and the rain. It is worlds better than the stock Goodyears, but not as good as some A/Ts I have had in the past. Offroad they excel, especially on the rocks, and the security of the super thick sidewall is nice to have. |

I am taking a serious look at the General Grabber AT2. So far I cant find anything bad about it. If I save up some more money I would go for the Dueler Revo's but they are nearly 2x the price of the Generals in stock size. Not sure about the size you are looking for. www.tirerack.com I would say that site is a must visit while tire shopping. |

I HATE HATE HATE General tires!!!! My truck came with them stock and they SUCK! I got a sweet deal on a set of 22s for my truck and they have General tires on there and they suck. I had a Tahoe that was slammed with a 265/35/22 and it rode better than my truck lowered 2 inches with a 305/40/22. I will never my Generals unless they come on a vehicle. Just my opinion. |

MTRs are good for offroad definetly on hwy driving you will get the humming noise no matter what it depends how much offroading you do and on what terrain I for one liked the Dueler AT revos - pricey but they did great on the snow/rain/hwy. they performed great offroading in rocks in MOAB they did good on mud in the midwest - not as good as MTRs I just decided to go for the MTRs just because the type of wheelin I do mostly. And they look great on the KJ |

I dont know if you would consider Cooper but the Discoverer ATR's are faily cheap and they do great in the rain/snow. For my purposes, they do great offroad as well but I only do light offroading so I wouldnt be a great judge. Tire Rack doesnt sell/reveiw them but I surfed the net before I purchased and I couldnt find anything bad about them. They also werent included in the recall from a couple of month's back (checked the net and called the company) so they dont seem to have any problems so far. |

Here is what you do. Slam on brakes at 60mph on wet pavement with good streets, decent AT's, or your best MT and... It won't be an "Opinion" any longer |
