Alright folks, I'm in the market for new tires... I just rushed through my Toyo Open Country A/Ts and were a little dissapointed in how long they lasted (about 18 months). So now I"m in the market for new tires and want an A/T but one size up since I will be lifting my liberty (RevTek 2") here very soon. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

ADAM

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's. 245/70/16 is the largest you can go without a lift. Great tire on-road, good tire off-road. Aired down to 22 psi with no issues. Have about 10,000 miles on them so far, no issues. Measure out at 29.6 inches. 1 inch taller and 1 inch wider than my stock 215/75/16's.

Hope this helps!

245/75/16 BFgoodrich A/T KO, great tire IMO. Better looking than the Revo.

or

245/75/16 Goodyear MT/R. If you do alot of offroading on rocks and stuff check this tire out, very aggressive, strong wears nice and looks great.

*edit
if you are getting the tires before the lift have them test fit you a 245/75, I bet it will fit and work as long as you don't offroad with it. Yeah rub at turning, but you can manage it until you install your lift.

I gad Revo's on my 02 and didn' think they held up that well, yes great wet traction but tread did not wear well. I will try KO's or Michilene LTX AT next time.

Gotta recommend the Yoko's (see sig). They have great bite, and have held up well to their first 6k miles. Great for the price too (about $30-40 cheaper than the Revo's each).

I had the LTX AT 235/70P on my Discovery and let me tell you I hated them. Wore GREAT. But they look ugly and they buldge in the sidewall. I replcae them with some KO's and they look much better, better offroading and the noise difference isn't noticable.

So I went on tire rack and read the reviews on the Bridgestone A/T Revos and the Yokohamas and all the other tires suggested and on their 1 - 10 ratings showed that the REVO seems to have the best all around ratings. I'm also going to be replacing the brakes with some Power Slot rotors up front and some nifty brake Pads. I just hope I can get the money soon enough to lift the sucker, so I might just go for the stock size and wait until it is lifted to buy new tires again. Thanks for all the advice!

You are probably not going to find an A/T tire that will last longer than the BFG. Also, if I am not mistaken, they are making them a little differently now and they are suppose to last longer. A buddy just got 80K out of a set.

What model tire did your friend have that lasted so long? the Revo? I don't need an amazing off-road tire, because I do light off-roading (read large puddles and medium size boulders) and just need a great tire that'll do very well in the Always rainy and wet Seattle Weather.

Thanks!

ADAM

PS: Where do you find the BFGoodrich? I looked on Tirerack and costco and couldn't find them!

I just had these put on and I have to tell you that I am very pleased with them, cant beat the price either ($420 installed). They look aggressive and hold the road very well. I would imagine this is the same with all tires when switching to AT from stock but it does ride a little stiffer and you can feel bumps a little more (have to get use to that) but the tire itself is pretty quiet. Not much to sacrafice and it's part of the fun of driving a Jeep!

I looked at many tires (BFG, Yoko's, Firestones) and I liked those as well but the $150+ savings wouldnt let me pass them up. Maybe next time I will try one of the others as I figure out how much off road use the Jeep will get but for now I am happy.
