They rubbed a little until I pounded down the pinch weld. I've got pictures of that too, but didn't upload them yet.

It looks like I'm going to have rubbing when the front wheels are stuffed and turned, so I'm going to have to do more surgery soon.

The rear wheels are goign to hit if I stuff them because the backspacing moved the tires out a touch. I need to find the Bumpstops that all J's sent with the Frankenlift. BTW- are these to replace the original bumpstops, or do I need to drill a hole in the bottom plate, right above the axel??

Just out of curiosity, why 9.5" instead of 10.5"?

I went with 9.5's since that was what my friend had on them. Practicaly brand new, so I'm very happy-$290 for 4.

I'd like to get wider ones on when I wear these out, but that won't be for a while.

I was thinking of getting the thornbirds in 31x11.00-15. but I am stuck on a wheel choice... RockCrawler 97's 15X8 3.75BS or 15X8 4.5BS.

what BS are you running, what’s your opinions???

There aren’t very many people out here running 15"s... we will be the select few!

I'm pretty sure the BS is 4 1/2" on the wheels. With a skinny tire like the 9.5" I could stuff the back tire up into the rear wheel well without hitting my fenders, but with the current backspacing, it puts the wheel closer to to the fender.

I've been planning on adjusting my fenders for wider tires to begin with.

Those 3.75's might be nice- but you'll definately have to chop on the fenders, I'm guessing you'd have a lot more overlap on your tires with 11's, but I think it would look nice!

check out some of the other options from swamper (if you really want interco tires)

the thornbirds are basically crap on any terrain. i tried them in mud/snow/sand/rock/you name it and they performed marginally at best. in the rain they were fairly horrid. as an added bonus, the thornbirds are not radials so they are known to flat spot if the vehicle sits (even overnight when the weather is cold). the 3 stage lugs stick out big time so i would expect them to rub (especially under a libby where room is limited). one last thing, they usually aren't very round and they are heavy as he!! so balancing them is a pia. even if you get them balanced, they take so much weight that you will end up with steering wheel wobble

the only other swampers i ran were tsl ssr's radials and they worked well in just about everything i threw at them (rain was still iffy but that is pretty much par for the course with a mud tire)

Ya, I looked at the thornbirds a bit more and I saw some bad reviews on them... not going that way anymore.

the SSR's are nice... designed for a light truck so they must be a bit lighter weight.

it is way too hard picking out a good tire now a days
