Folks, I want to go to a 265-70-16 in Dest AT but I can't seem to wear mine out?

I've got 50K on them and beat the living piss out of them, torn off some of the tread blocks, never been cut or punctured and they still have about 65% tread??

When do they wear out?

My gas milage is still around 25mpg. I rotate, and rebalance because of necessity after taking out chunks, I run 31 lbs cold.

I think I've had them on since 2003.

Because you run 31PSI...that's why they are not wearing out. You're getting full contact.

Are you saying you have Destination A/T's on there right now and want to plus up the size? The treadwear rating on the Firestones are 440 so they will last almost forever.

If you are talking about a stock tire - just switch them out

I just hate to waste the money but I want to fill up the fender a little more since my locker broke and I don't care about binding anymore.

Matter of fact, I never knew that with one rear wheel off the the ground the other would recieve power without a locker? It does and I do it all the time now. My airborne wheel recieves no power...I thought it would work the opposite.

In mud I just rock the steering wheel back and forth and I get shifting traction.

Its nowhere as good as with the locker though.

sleeve, my tread rating is 460. I rotated them again and decided to keep them thru another hot season and toss them.

I'll never go back to the stock goodyear SRA's...They don't stop on wet pavement thats why I changed them at 6K
