I wouldn't do bigger than P245/70R16 without a lift. I wouldn't bother with 17s just yet. You have a lot more options available in 16 in. size. Hercules Nokian and Pirelli make 17 inch tires. I'm new I'm learning all this too! |

Without a lift ....245-70X16 will make a lot of difference in handeling etc, way better on the road Then when you get a lift you can go bigger or still run the 245s. 17 inchers are harder to find so if you already have 16 inch stay where you are on rim size |

Do you mind rubbing????? Without a lift: 245/70SR16 --Probably very little rubbing...tolerable 245/75SR16 --Lots of rubbing, can damage tire or wheel well 255/70SR16 --lots and lots of rubbing without lift and trimming. Probaly would mess up fender flares if offraoded hard. None of these are absolutes. Not every liberty has the same dimensions in the wheel well, even in the same year and package. 245/70R16 is a safe and reasonable size increase. I have a 2" frankenlift lift with 245/70R16 and it still rubs a little bit on the sway bar when the wheel is fully turned. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. |
