245/75R16





Recently, my M/Ts were almost bald up front even after a lot of rotating so I needed new tires. I put up with the M/Ts on-road characteristics for how long they lasted, but didn't much like the noise and wet traction. My friend who works at Discount Tire told me these BFGs were the most aggressive A/T they had amd looked more like an M/T with a lot of siping and a severe-snow rating. Compared to my bald M/Ts, they grip amazingly. They're a huge improvement on the road over the Firestone Destinations. I haven't really had them offroad, just through a little mud where they cleaned fine with some revving and didn't slip sideways like the M/Ts did in the gooey stuff. I'll have to air them down for some rocks soon enough. I really like the Destinations' sidewall lugs, but the BFGs look nice from the sideview aswell. We'll see if the sidewall lugs hold up on the rocks.

How much did they cost you. I'm in need of some new tires for my ZJ before winter.

Mmmm, bentonite. (That's what makes them turn blue. Very slick when wet!)

$598.41 out the door with the tire replacement certificate on each one. The actual tire was $120 each. I had asked my friend who worked there if he could get the 235/85R16. He ordered both those and the tires I have now and showed them to me side-by-side. He strongly suggested the 245/75 because it had the wider footprint and wasn't much shorter than the 85, so I went with his opinion. They have a lot of tread and I see now that I would have needed to pound and flatten the pinch-welds immediately with the 85 series tire.
