has anyone used these? by the tire size info i can put a 225/75/16 on a non lifted kj. i am interested in what people think of this tire. by the rating it looks to be a great tire. What do you think?
thanks

I'm researching the same thing - I want to put bigger tires but I'm not ready for a lift
I've read that you can add a 245/70/16 with little or no rubbing at all and no lift.
check this out: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=958

I've also read some reviews at tire rack - they have a chart as well as reviews
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... es&place=0

but I'm inclined to this (survey results are better)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... es&place=4

hope this helps

jeepers, I have the same size, however the tires are just a bit different. Destination MTs here. The size is perfect for an unlifted jeep. Fills out the wheel wells perfectly w/ very little rubbing (only in reverse at full lock). If you get them, I highly suggest you rotate @ every oil change. They should last you quite a while.

No worries. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow so you can get a better idea.

Hi Folks, I just put on a set of Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T 255/70r16. I do not have a lift yet. There is very little rubbing only at full turn. It rubs the plastic cladding near the lower front and a very little on the plastic cladding covering the pinch weld. I will deal with the slight rubbing soon enough.

Discount Tire Co. said they wouldn't rub. They said if I wasn't happy I can exchange them for a smaller size. But, I will be installing a lift very soon and like to look of them. I got an awesome deal on them and there is/was a mail-in rebate for $75.

Go see the Tire Size calculator at 1010tires.com . you can use this to compare the tire sizes. Really helps get an idea of what differences there are between the different tire sizes.

Check out this thread. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=137

I originally went to 225/75/16 Destination MT's, then switched to 245/70/16 Revo's. Both without a lift. My stock tires were 215/75/16's.

225/75 are 1" taller than stock.
245/70 are 1" taller and 1" wider than stock.

No rubbing with either size.

Hope this helps!

i am wondering how much you guys have paid for this tires? i found them for $145 each and went to sears and they will match and beat that price by %10. they gave me a quote of $144 each with mount and balance and disposal of old tires. is this a good deal or should i keep looking?

FWIW the 225/75r16 tire size *IS* stock on later model year KJs.

That's what came on my 2005. Albeit the Goodyear STs :( With that tire I get no rubbing at all.

well i have 215/70/16's goodyear st's on there now they are the worst tire i have ever had. not my choose they were on there when i bought it. i have not seen 225/75/16 on a stock 02 kj. the biggest i have seen on a stock 02 kj was 235/70/16. if you look on any tire place they will give you 215/75/16 or 235/70/16 as your choose. if you search by jeep liberty not tire size or brand!
i could be wrong. correct me if i am. i know the 05 are given that option.
were the 02-04 given the same?

On my 2005 Rennie my stock tires are 235/70/R16.

this tire in 225/75/16 is one of the hardest to get. i have call every where and most places can get them but are nearly $200+ each or just dont have them in this size. tirerack has them for $134 and with 5 tires it comes to 700+ with shipping. sears has this deal if you can find a better deal at a local shop (not tirerack) they will match it and take %10 off the price. after sevral calls trying to get a bargen and just trying to find this tire i finly got a place that was $145 each! called sears and they are getting them for me for $140 each with mount and ballence. haveing them ordered this week and hope to have them on by next.

I bought mine about 9 months ago and I paid 700 out the door. That was for the tires, mount/balance and lifetime balance. I got them @ a local Firestone, and they had to order the tires. Only took a few days to get in, but they said it was an odd size and the first they had ever ordered in that size. Good luck to ya. My camera kinda sh*t the bed, so I wasn't able to get some pics up for ya. Glad PCTim was able to hook ya up!

I know. Weird isn't it? The Renegade's updated tires are smaller than may 2005 Sport!

So that means they've used THREE different sizes on the Jeep Stock:

lt215/70r16 or 27.9 x 8.46
lt235/70r16 or 28.9 x 9.25
lt225/75r16 or 29.2 x 8.85

And we know the

lt245/70r16 or 29.6 x 9.64

will fit stock as well. :)

I am going with this size when my stockers wear out, unless I decide I want to cram the 245/75 (30.4 x 9.64) or 255/70 (30.0 x 10.0) under there since most of my use is expedition type and not crawling/climbing, and I don't articulate much.

Add a forth "stock" size. Mine had 225/70/16's and they were junk!

As far as the stock sizes go, that 215/70 should be 215/75. Also, if you are looking for the LT225/75/16 Destination M/T's, as far as I know the ones that were on my Jeep are still at the store. There are only 200 miles on four of them, and the fifth one is new. They are at the Danvers, MA store. If they still have them, maybe they can send them to another store closer to you. My brother used to work there, but no longer does, otherwise I'd ask him to take care of it.

Hope this helps!

I've run the Revo's in the snow, but not the Destination's. The Revo's did very well. The only experience I have with the Destination's is about a month from April to May in 2004. I only put 200 miles on them before I swapped them out for the Revo's. There are times when I wish I still had them, but for the daily driving I do, the Revo's are much better. The Destination's are very noisy between 25 and 35 mph, they are very stiff (the guys at the shop had a helluva time trying to get them off of my rims), and you feel every little bump in the road. The one time I went off-road, I wish I had them (the Revo's still did great, just one spot where they were packed with dirt and just spun on me), but one time out of 365, the Revo's win.

Hope this helps!

I had mine through most of last winter, and they were great in MN weather. Several storms shut down the DOT so I could go out and play...! Driving style will dictate more than anything else.
