hey hey everyone, i just joined today and i have a 2004 Renegade 4X4. Everyone seems real cool around here and i'm excited to be here. All the discussions have really helped me out a lot.

Sorry if this topic is in the wrong spot, or if you are tired of answering the question.
But i'm getting ready to lift, and throw on some 265 / 75's and i have the Tire Pressure Sensor that relays all 5 of the tires pressure to the computer console on the roof. I was wondering how that worked, and if i would lose that after installing new tires? If i dont lose that, what about low tire pressure alarm, and do those 265 take about the same amount of pressure as the stock so it doesn't matter?

Appreciate the help!!

I would tell them that they are there, so when the mechanic removes the old tires, he doesnt crush to break them.

I just got my new tires mounted tonight, and it looks like I'm gonna have to go to the dealer and get the TPMS reset. The light is now on, but doesn't chime. The place I had them mounted at didn't have the magnet tool to reset them for me either.

I think with different size tires, it needs recalibration, at least thats what I gather from the owners manual. It seems if you have an EVIC, the system may be able to reset itself.

i know there is probably another section for this....but will the lift and tires, and exhaust void my warranty?

in short..."no". they (jeep) would have to prove that any failure you may have in the future was actually causes by the modifications you made (lift/tires/etc) to legally refuse you warrenty work.

BUT (and there is always a but isnt there?) dealers vary. some dont care about the lift and agree to fix about anything (even if the problem was caused by a modification) and others try to blame everything on the modifications. i have even heard of a dealer that blamed a problem on off roading (um isnt that why we buy jeeps? so much for trail rating). check around with other owners in your area for a lift friendly dealer. if one dealer refuses warranty work, go to a different dealer. they are definitely not all the same

Here's a helpful link ...

http://www.sema.org/main/semaorghome.aspx?ID=8124

Keep in mind the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is a federal bit of legislation that says your warranty can NEVER be voided due to aftermarket modifications. It does allow for certain claims to not be covered if the damage is a result of the aftermarket modifications ... but that doesn't in any way affect future claims for coverage from your warranty.
