Post subject:  Running chains

Anyone know if the stock tires give you enough clearance to run chains?

I don’t think actual tire chains will work but I know that the Tire cables will work. I bought a set of ladder style tire cables from this web site Tire Chains.com and they worked great when I was driving Used them in Canada on a trip last winter. I had no problem with them on the rear tires. I think that they would be ok on the front tires but I haven’t tried them to see if they clear enough.

If I remember correctly, you're not supposed to put them on the front tires. There's not enough clearance and they'd tear up the plastic. Does seem like you'd want to be able to steer though.

I think I've read this as well. Rear wheels only.
