I was considering slapping some center caps from the factory steelies on my soft 8's. For those with this set-up...how do they stay attached to the Cragar's? The lugs?

So, does anyone have a set of 4 or 5 plastic center caps for the stock KJ steel wheels that you want to get rid of?

My steelies aren't soft 8's but, still, I used the standard Kj steelies centre caps on them, and, they look great.

I attached then to the rims exaclty the same way they attach to the standard steelies. I drilled the three holes to use the original mounting bolts. I made a template from the original steel wheels that had positions for the 5 studs and the position of the three mounting holes. lined the stud holes up on the new wheels, and drilled the holes in the right position. Simple.

OK, so I now know that I need to get the bolts for the centers too. My parts list CD did not show the bolts...wonder if they come with the caps? I only had the factory steel wheels off once and that was to sell them. I had totally forgotten how they we're attached. Thank you for the information and you are correct...the centers do look good.

Wait, really?? Then I guess it would be easier to get the caps for the 05 and up.

So Eric, the next time you work on a 05 and up Liberty grab the caps for me.

Scott...I dunno about all that. But I have considered having mine off and ready for some "trading", since the '05+ steelies still have the holes for the bolts:P
