So I have been doing my homework and though I hear from you guys that Revos are the way to go, I am wondering is it because you all have them. Dont get me wrong I am sure they are a great tire all around, but what I keep reading on other reviews is that the treadwear is terrible. That they only last for maybe 25,000 at best even though they are rated for 50,000.
I was all about the revos up untill today. Now I am starting to lean towards the Firestone Destination A/T's Though they may not be as aggressive looking I have been reading that they are much better if your driving is mostly on-road. Just throwing that out there for discussion. I need to figure out what tire to get so this forum is always a help

I got the Firestone Destination's mounted two days ago and so far I love them. I'll be going offroad with them on the 19th - so we'll see how they preform there. They look very nice on the KJ as well. Way more agressive than the Goodyears. If money wasn't an object, I would have probably gone for the BFG ATs.

I dont know where you are researching them Consumer Reports rated the Firestone Destination AT's and the Cooper Discoverer ATR's pretty much the same. I was in the same boat as you are and I went with the Coopers based on price alone ($400.00 out the door).

They perform very well for me so far (better than stock) but havent been in the snow with them yet. They ride a little rough sometimes on street but nothing too bad. Worth checking out IMHO. I think there are two others on the boards that have them as well.

Has anyone here run the BFG AT's? I think I finally convinced my parents that new tires are a good idea with winter coming (and the horrible stockies spinning on the road now even when it's dry, with only 3,500 miles on them). I think the BFG's are the best looking tire in that group, and I'll be driving mainly onroad.

one of our Northeast (now florida) members just got the bfg's last year (with a recomindation from me) & he ABSOLUTLY LOVES THEM & he's got a rusty's lift,I'll be putting them on come spring (hopfully be lifted by then),6 trucks & never a problem

Personally I think the KOs are one of the best ATs you can get. Yes, they're a little more than some of their competitors, but if you keep them balanced and rotated they'll last you a while. I've never gotten less than 40k out of a set. I've run them on my YJ, my TJ and now the wife's KJ.

I've run them primarily on the road and they do well in rain and snow. I've run them in sand and on the trails in NC. About the only place they really suffer is in mud. That's not to say they'll do everything, but they'll do most of what you want for an occasional off-roader.

Well right now it's between the revos and the bfg's for me. I love how the BFG's look so if the road noise is about equal to stock and the wear is good I might lean that way. The tirerack.com ratings for the Revos are higher though, so I might be leaning that way.

got the Bridgestone Dueler REVO 245/70-16 mounted today - love the looks and we'll see how they do offroad next weekend. Will post pics tomorrow
the only glitch.... tire dealer screwed up one of the sensors - so mi EVIC is telling me that I'm riding on a flat tire - oh well, got to buy the part at Mopar or somewhere else and take it to the shop to be installed and get the refund from the tire dealer. And yes, they are paying for it.

My local Cooper dealer wanted $140 a tire including tax for a set of the Copper ATRs. I made out better with the Firestones.

Wow that a heck of a difference. I was all for the Firestones with the price of $568 (or around there) until I found this place that got the ATR's for $400. I figured I couldnt beat it and a lot of people I talked to with Coopers liked them a lot.

Maybe it was because all this place does is tires and nothing else, no oil changes or other automotive repairs. They removed, mounted, balanced and aligned all with in a half hour and that's including talking to the guy

I've had the Firestone destination for a little over 6 months now. From Carolina mud to a Vermont snowstorm nothing could stop these things. 3 weeks ago, we had our first significant snow here in VT. Abour 4-6 inches of the white stuff - out of nowhere. Going up the 4 mile stretch of VT 64 in order to hop on the interstate (literally up the 10% grade) I was in 2wd the entire time! The reviews from tirerack are true; these tires really are sweet.

I recently bought the Firestone Destination AT, they are great tires and you cant beat the cost $550 installed w/roaside hazzard for all five.

I think I paid $486 "out the door" back in May. That included road hazard warrentee and free rotations. Man, I love AAFES. It probably helps that Firestone's largest plant is in Fayetteville, NC - conveniently next to FT Bragg! :D
