non lifted I would say 245 70 is about it, since they (Moabs) are 8 inch you will need a wide enough tire to seat well on the rim |

Yes, what Tom said... check the overall diameter on the brand of tire you want is at 29.6" max. You may get some light rubbing at full lock but should not have to trim. |

i put my moabs and 245/75 mt/rs on the kj 2 days before i did my lift. Had rubbing on the front and back of the wheel well. not bad, but had to make wide turns. not much room for stuffing either. let me see if I can dig up some pics. edit....here ya go ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thankx for the pics Jeep4me99 The reason why I am asking this, is because I am going to remove my lift but want to keep the moabs. I might put on a smaller tire. I will see how bad it rubs with what I have now. I can always put on my stock sport rims untill i get smaller tire if needs be. |

Jeep Dawg, I'm non lifted with 245/70/16 Firestone Destination A/T's on Moab's. Minor rubbing at the fog doors 1/2 a turn before full lock in reverse, pinch welds pounded over. While the rubbing is noticeable its nothing awful, however, I wouldn't go any bigger in tire size being non lifted. I can get some pictures if you would like. -Ryan |

I'm running 245/75/16 Silent Armors on mine with some slight rubbing, but that's mostly burned off. Mine's a pre lowered '02 though. |

My wife is having a hard time with the baby getting in and out. I used to drive the KJ daily, but she works local and I drive about 300 miles a day and it was killing me in gas. So she is driving it now and I gotta do what is rite for my family. It kinda sucks but, it has to be done. Even my wife is kinda sad that it's gotta be done cuz she loves the looks people give here. |

That's a great reason to though. Family first will always keep the family together! |

I went with 235/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor on 16x8 Moab rims (no lift). Rides great. ![]() Tight fit though... I put a pop rivet in the bottom front of the fender liner to keep it pulled back a hair. ![]() |
