I have a Libby Ltd which came with 17 inch rims and the tires are P235/65R/17. When the time comes to replace the tires, assuming I don't want to pay for new rims, and assuming I don't lift the Jeep (though I'm thinking about it), what is the largest tire size by way of diameter and width that I can slap on the Jeep with no rubbing? |

With the limitation of no rubbing, you can only go up a little in size. 245/65R17s should be OK. (That's about 29.6 diameter). 245/70R16s will be in the 30.6-30.9 range. These will rub at full turn even with a 2.5 lift. |

one thing you must remember is the 17in rim makes the whole tire 1in bigger. A 16in rim would make the tire 1in smaller than a 17in tire with the same size. Heres a nice little calculator at the bottom of this page. http://www.4lo.com/4LoCalc.htm |

My Freedom Edition came with 17x7.5 rims just like your Limited. I have the Frankenlift but my 245/65R17 Pirelli Scorpion A/T's still rub because the wheel is 7.5" wide. It's not very bad though and I haven't had to do any trimming. A 245/65R17 is 29.5" diameter, BTW. |
