Post subject: | Tire Pressure - Newb Question |
I recently purchased my Liberty. The previous owner put 31" MT/Rs on it. He told me that the current tire pressure was 75 PSI. This seems high to me but that's really just based on my previous experiences/knowledge. I haven't taken the time to check the tire pressure but wanted to get everyone's opinion before I did. What would be the appropriate tire pressure for my Jeep for onroad activities? |

Look on the sidewall of your tires... in small print, should have the max tire pressure listed. Appropriate pressure is going to vary from tire to tire based on what is designed to do. Heavy duty towing or off road tires run higher PSI than street tires. I run my Firestones at 41 PSI rear, 38 PSI front (max 44 PSI on the sideway) for mpg and towing reasons (less sidewall flex at higher pressure). |

Max PSI is 80 lbs. I'm just looking to get an idea of what others run with MT/Rs or similar tires. |

Good news! I had a rotation done today and had them drop the tire pressure to 40 lbs. and my TPMS gauge went off. Woot! |
