What width wheel / backspacing are you running? Mine on the Moabs look as if they sit out a little farther and look wider as well

That's good, I was a little worried when I saw the stock rubber on the back :D

i like to put that set of tires on my kj, but im between 245 75 and 265 70, because of the load range E and SL.

what you suggest? is range E to stff for the liberty? or is ok for normal driving..?

Nope not too stiff at all I just put a set of 245/75R16 Grabber AT2s (E-load rated) on mine (recently re-lifted) and love them!!!!

i think the 245 75 its enough lift for the kj, do i need a spacer to fit the tire with the OME hd and ranchos lift in 245 75 or 265 70?

Depends on your rims. 245/75R16 -- generally not (unless you have the awful OEM steelies like me with 5.5" BS which require wheel spacers). 265/60R16 -- Don't know, I have no experience with that size. However, I do have to say that there is a reason that better than 75% of those here that have larger tires are running 245/75s -- it seems to be the best compromise of ride height vs. modification vs. mileage vs. power to be a successful Off-Road ride and still be a Daily Driver.

thanks for the replay.
i have the i think "normal" OEM alumin wheels 16. and i don know nothing about spacer.

my first choice was the 245 75, because its what almost evrey body runs. but after see that almost 245 245 its load range E, and my kj, besides of the offroad use, its for daily driving with a wife and a 6 months old baby.
then i look the grabber's in 265 70 and got interested by the SL for more comfortable ride.
the bottom line is that im going for the grabbers but i dont know in what sizes (for the load), i just dont want that my baby jumps like we are going on a TJ lol, for me i ll choose KM2, but i have to think in the hole package..
what do you suggest?

hey guys,

im trading my set of 245/75/16 Toyo Open Country AT's to a set of 255/70/16 General Grabber AT2's on Gunmetal 05-07 Rene wheels. My tires I just bought and are VERY unhappy with them cause I was stupid and didnt spend the extra $$$ to get a MT (cause I really like that rough tread). The other guy wants to try something different on his CRD KJ. I see the Grabber has a rougher tread than what I have and I really like it. will there be any issues with the different tire size?

(f.y.i. im not worried about gas mileage, ride comfort, etc... cause i ran 32" Firestone Destination MT's as temps...yes a 265/75/16 for about 2 weeks and LOVED them...sadly I had to return them back to my uncle...they werent in the best shape but looked really cool!!!)

what do you all think; good or bad deal?

255-70s are a little bit shorter of a tire and not much difference in tread really still just an AT

Not true.. I put my spare on one side (245/75-16) and left the 255/70-16 on the other side...drove it down the road, then took a tape measure and checked them both. They were IDENTICAL height from ground to top of tread. The difference is that my 255s were wider, and noticeably thicker looking to the eye when you stand back and look at them. Tires are like shoes, they all are a little different.

Also, the Grabber has 17/32nds of tread which is the most you can possibly get on any AT tire. They are one of the most aggressive ATs on the market and will pull hard through just about everything. There is a big difference in the tread compared to other ATs.

Plus, the Grabbers are also studdable if you are in really bad winter conditions.
