So, there 1" taller, and currently there seems to be plenty of room. I know it would be tight, and require a fair bit of trimming, and the pinch weld, but, is it possible? Somebody please say yes ![]() |

Nope, with trimming, 245/70/16 or 235/75/16 is the largest you can fit with no lift. |

It has been done - but don't hit bumps or turn sharp. (actually you may have more clearance - was your 02 early? before Apr they were an inch taller) |

(actually you may have more clearance - was your 02 early? before Apr they were an inch taller) If it was pre lift, maybe, depending upon sagging. After they lowered it.... dunno, on stock rims, with no lift, it is going to be hitting everywhere all the time, definitely not offroadable though I would think. If your on a budget I think it would be better just buying a cheap daystar lift, and the tires you really want, and then upgrading the lift later. |

The one's I remember were new 05 CRD's - so 'lowered' but no sag at all - and neither mentioned off-road. I'd be very concerned that 7 year old springs are riding a lot lower now than when they were new. a set of OME's would work wonders. |

Problem is everyone on here seems to tell me if I get the daystar lift, I need to spend the cash on the extra shocks and struts. I mean, if I could get a daystar and ride it for a year, given the cost of them, I would do that, but if I have to replace shocks and struts its not worth it, I would be better waiting a year or 2 and getting the franky. You know, I'm starting to dislike my Jeep, for the fact that everything in it is complicated, I can't just add a spacer, nothing is cheap and easy :S |

I think I have a cheap fix solution to fit the 255/70/16's. Pound your front pinchwelds over and do a 5/8" front clevis lift (equals 1 1/4") and add 2 rubber upper rear isolator pads to each side ( equals 1"). I'm guessing this would give you the little extra boost to clear the tires untill you get your funds together. Total cost 4 upper iso. pads. Do the work yourself, no labor charge. |

Talking to a local shop thinking I am going to be going with a daystar spacer, stock struts, and skyjacker rear shocks. |

I used to have this size tyre on my KJ. They stuff into the guards really tight but they do stuff, I have ARB Bar so there is some trimming done at the front. Rubbed slightly on sway bar at full lock but no need to worry about that. They were on stock rims, good size tyre, they look nice and fat. |

What about 225/75/16? It's aviable in the km2 and is only slightly taller then my current 235/70/16, a bit narrower I believe. Measures to a 29.5", so same as 245/70/16 give or take, right? |

225/75/16 is the standard size for most years of the KJ, so there are no fitment issues without a lift. |

I have 245/75/16's with no lift and no trimming. I get no rub except on the roads when I drop the front into a slight dip. I never get rub on the trails. |

According to BFG the KM2 at that size is 30.7", so basically a 31" tire... And no lift, wow. What tire are you runing with that, it must be a street or a at tire, I've been told I cant cram 255/70/16 in stock let alone 245/75/16 lol. Though I do know a guy with that size in a AT/MT, perhaps I can bug him to let me switch for a day LOL. |

![]() That makes more sense lol. I've heard some good things about those tirs, but I don't expect they are aggressive enough for my trails ![]() |

I have BFG 235/70 16 KM MTRs on my rig now with no lift. I do get slight rubbing on the pinch weld and a little on the front splash guard as well. |
