I got a new set of Coopers on the Jeep yesterday. I used to Wrangler MTRs but I went with the Coopers this time since they were almost $50 per tire cheaper and I liked the look of them better. Holy crap did they rub more than the MTRs did when I got them. When I put the MTRs on, I moved the pinch weld out of the way and molded the liner to accommodate the tires. there was only a slight rub every now and then when turning sharply and compressing the springs a little at the same time. I thought I'd be ok with the new tires but I was way wrong. The pinch weld was still ok but the front was rubbing bad. I don't know if the Coopers are just that much more meatier or what. It's all good now with a little more creative moulding. I would love to lift it an inch or so but my wife drives it mostly and she already thinks it's high enough especially after I put the MOABs on. She actually noticed just looking at it that it sat slightly higher. |

with an 02 your springs are shot by now, so they have sagged some as your tires wore down now with new tires it rubs. what size did you put on? Also with the Moabs since they are wider its going to rub more as well compared to a 7 inch like stock |

If you haven't done a Clevis lift - this might be a good time to try it - extra 3/8" - just a little more clearance. |

I actually was looking at that today, I noticed there is room to move it. I'll do a search later about this lift. I would think that you would have to do more than just more the clamp down and bolt it. I have 245/75 16's on

Wow, I put Clevis lift into the search and got all kinds of vague off topic results. I don't like asking questions until I at least attempt to find the answer myself. Anywho, is it really as simple as loosening the clevis, prying it down a little and re-tightening? |
