I JUST ORDERD SOME 255/65R/16 GENERAL AT2'S FOR MY 04 LIBBY.I THINK THEY ARE ABOUT THE WIDEST TIRE YA CAN FIT WHITH NO LIFT. 10" WIDE ! WENT WHEELIN' AT RED ROCK CANYON , AND THEY WORK GREAT.A LITTLE RUBBING AT FULL LOCK,ON THE INNER FENDER WELL .ITS PLASTIC SO NO BIG DEAL.THIS IS A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT FROM THE STOCK GOODYEAR ST.THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS MORE ROAD NOISE. ONE MORE THING THEY ARE STUDABLE FOR THOSE OF YOU LIVING IN SNOW COUNTRY.

YEAH VERY MINOR RUBBING , ONLY AT FULL LOCK.THERE IS A PLASTIC NUB THAT STICKS OUT ON THE FRONT OF MY INNER FENDE WELL. I SHOULD PROBABLY JUST CUT IT OFF.BUT IT DOSN'T BOTHER ME ENOUGH TO GET OUT THE SAWZALL.

I paid $110,but they retail for about $125.The main reason I bought them is because they have a rim guard, and 17/32 of tread.and are snowflake rated. The general part # is 15463770000 . They are 29.1" tall & 10.2" wide.So far I realy like them a major improvment in the rain. The stock goodyear st were horrable on wet pavement.I'm going to MT.Charlston this weekend and hopefully theres snow to test them in.Over all I would recomend them to anyone......note no caps lock lol

That tread is identical to my 255's. Mine are Duralon which I bought at Fleet Farm for $73 per tire mounted and balanced. They are called Baja Widetrack A/T

Duralon tires are made by Bridgestone/Firestone. General Tires are made by Continental.

Yeah but the tread is still virtually identical. My duralon's have been on for 5 months and 10,000 miles with no complaints. I have driven them in ice, snow, mud, rain, and sand and they a good all around tire. I am ready for bigger and more agressive now (thinking 265/75's)

Do you have any Pics of your tread, that price is great and Fleet farm is pretty convenient to me. I have had very good luck with Fleet Farm tires and batteries in the past.

Has any of you thought of Mastercraft tires? I had the Coursier A/T on my truck that I traded in for my 05 lib. They offer many different sizes that fit on libs. I used them onthe farm and in the fields and I never got stuck. Great traction in mud and snow and on wet pavement. I had 265/70r16 installed for about 80 a tire.

Looks like those Duralon tires from Fleet Farm were under recall. I read a story of one guy who had 2,000 miles on his and one of them broke a belt and disintegrated going down the road, which wiped out his fender and tail light. Here's the info:

Tire Models In Question

NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2000

(CBS/AP)

(CBS) After receiving 169 complaints about Steeltex R4S and A/T light truck tires, Federal regulators Friday opened a seperate investigation into that brand of Firestone tires.

The company has already recalled 6.5 million tires under three other brands. The Firestone tires being recalled are all 15-inch P235/75R ATX and ATX II tires and all same-sized Wilderness AT tires made at Firestone's Decatur, Ill., plant.

Meanwhile, warranty and claims data led Continental General Tire to announce it would replace for free about 160,000 tires that can lose part of their tread. About 140,000 of the 16-inch ContiTrac AS tires were original equipment on about 38,000 1998 and 1999 model year Lincoln Navigators made by Ford Motor Co. Another 20,000 were sold as replacement tires.

In addition to those tires under recall, Federal investigators said the Firestone tires they were looking at in the first Firestone investigation were sold under more than three dozen different names. Tires affected by their probe, but not recalled, include all sizes of the following models:

AMERICAN PROSPECTOR A/T

I had 265/75-16 Mastercraft Courser MTs on my Ford Ranger and loved them. They were $90 each and never gave me one second of trouble for 10,000 miles until I sold the truck. I almost bought another set today for my Jeep, but the price has apparently gone up and they are $130/tire now. So I got Generals instead.
