I just want to know if the quality would be there ... my offroading is maybe 5-10% of my driving ...
And I will be getting a set of 245/75/16 AT with these rims (potentially these)

Steel wheels is preferred over aluminum when offroading. What type of wheelin will you be doing (rocks, sand, mud??) If you're on the rocks alot one good hit, and the rim is destroyed cant be bent back into shape like a steel rim.

if you mean rock climbing on rocks the size of my tires - then no i dont go on rocks ...

Yes to: trails in middle of woods through some small rocks (no bigger than a foot), mild mud, a few rivers if they are in the way, uh ... maybe a treestump or two... and washouts

I am not very hard on it as it is my daily drive too ... any recomendations on a nice looking steel rims at 16" (I am on 17"s now and want to downgrade to give more tire options)?

Local dealership is quoting me $400 a rim ... and I would need 5 for a spare...

Wheel is One cast aluminum ... so they should be semi strong and strong enough for waht I want to use them for... right?

Maybe? They'll still leak air if you park against snow & ice and can bend if hit hard enough. Steel is the way to go if you're going to wheel off road. But hey, if you like them, buy them and see how they work for you.

$400 a rim though? ouch!!! with or out rubber? what is the backspace?

I can't think of a good reason to advise someone to buy rims at a dealership.

I think with 245/75/R16 you might be better off on 7" rim. Specs for a 245/75/R16 BFG TA/KO shows rim width 6.5" to 7.5".

You might be able to go to a 265/75/R16 with those rims but I am not sure what clearancing/rubbing issues you might encounter.

Thats $400 for the rim only... They never gave me any details on the rim... just price and I sad forget it.

Im up in Northern NB ... my snow banks are still 4-5' high ... so snow is a slight problem where I am at ... salt - not so much as it is only for a month or so when melting is significant...
Here was the last bad storm we had almost a month ago after I plowed it out:

I dont want to get the 265/75/16 as they wont fit ... I was originally going to go with the 265/65/17 as I have 17" on my Jeep now ... but the turning issue came up since that tire would be 3cm wider ... It wont make a difference when I get an ARB bumper and cut it off (I dont want to cut it without the bumper as it would look funny, the looks matters to me) but I am not making 2 large purchases right away for my jeep.
