So if I were to get either the Cragar Soft 8's or the Cragar V-5, both steel wheels, would the 31" tire with the 15" wheel fit fine? I've heard that you will have to modifty the brakes unless you use steel wheels. If so, should I be okay in all ways with that size tire? Minor trimming and pinch weld pounding is anticipated. And to anyone who has ever had the Treadwrights, someone told me you have to have them balanced more than usual? I'm going to go with the retreads no matter what, I'm just curious if I will also need to keep an eye out on their condition a lot. Thanks. |

Oh and also, with the 15" wheel, would I need a 8" or 7" width? I know the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5. |

I'm running stock alloys with 245/75/16 Treadwright MT-Gs with the Pure-Grip. I will never own anything else. The tires are fantastic...if you go 15s get the 7" you will get a better bead when airing down. Just make sure you have the right back space... I know you get a little more side wall, but IMHO price of wheels (16" treadwrights aren't much more than 15") and brake cooling it makes sense to stick with recommended 16" wheel. |

Funny thing, my long time friend was from Long Island, named Eric Altamura... AltE, haha. But I'm glad I'm getting good reviews on these Treadwrights, the price is great and the MTR tread looks awesome. |

So I think my choice is official, the V-5's and Treadwright MTRs... I'm excited. How bad do the V-5's/Soft 8's look without the center caps? Is it a necesity to have 'em? |

If you have the stock steel wheels, you could use the stock center caps. |

They're the Cragars, not stock wheels. But I found some black center caps for $5 a piece on Summit... Works for me. |

No, no. If your Jeep came with the stock steel rims. I've seen pics of someone using the stock center caps from the stock steel rims with Soft 8s. Looked pretty good too. |

Yeah those are the ones. IIRC, you have to remove the locating pin on the back of them. |

Well since the center caps I found are so cheap, I will just compare the two when the time comes. Thanks for the tips though. |

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... entre+caps Yup. That is what I will eventually do with mine when I go to a set of Soft-8s, except I will leave the center caps silver like daspes did here: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=34957&highlight=cragar+center+centre+cap |
