Post subject:  Time for new tires-advice needed

Finally burnt through the Goodyear SR-As and time for new tires. Problem is that I've read the FAQs and searched and I'm still confused.

I own a 2004 columbia edition without any lift and none planned in the future.

I'm interested in the General Grabbers.

Using my existing rims, is 235/70R16 the biggest I can go without rubbing?

Revo's if you plan to do light dirt trails but mostly daily driving - best for on the road "all terrain" tire.

KO's for rougher trails - best all-around tire for on-road and off-road combined.

Tires more argumentative for extreme trails or rock crawling but it sounds like you aren't going that route.

Unless you go off road, an all terrain tire is pointless.

If you go off road, an all terrain tire is pointless.

If you don't go off road, get a good street tire. If you don't, get an aggressive off road tire.

The largest tire that you are going to fit is a 245/70/16 with no lift. With the number of miles that the OP has though, even they may be tight of a fit.

yep 245/70/16 at 29.5 inches will probably be about right. Try the Fuzion XTi's agressive look, inexpensive, quiet, wear well and grip like glue on a wet road. I ran the 245/65/17's (29.5) on mine while stock with no problems. 8)

When I bought my Liberty it already had 245/70/16. I have no rubbing issues and it's not lifted. I don't go off road as of yet. When I bought it, it didn't have a spare or a jack so we ended up getting 4 new rims and I'm keeping the OEM rims for spares.

can't belief the oem rims are so expensive.
