I'm considering Moabs however my 245 series tire ( as do the mtrs that came stock on the moabs) call for a 6.5"- 7.5" wide wheel. That means to me I'd be more at risk to pop a bead. Wondering that others experiences are. |

You'll be alright. Yes, a 7" wheel would be BETTER, but it's not gonna hurt anything to run the MT/R's on Moabs |

I think he is looking to move his current 245's to the MOAB's. we all know the MT/R's work, they come on the MOAB's |

Since the MTRs that came off the the Moabs were 245/75/16 and tons and tons of people wheeled their Rubicons stock, you should be fine. I ran a 31 on an 8" wheel and even had my PSI down to 10 and never popped a bead. |

I also ran my MT/Rs on Moabs as low as 12 PSI while wheeling in the Rockies and had no issues. |

You;ll be fine. Yes an 8" rim with a 245 does increase you chance of popping the bead. Unless you run at extremely low PSI, it's probably not likely. Well maybe if you have the tire wrapped on the edge of a big rock, off camber, and you steer the wrong way then maybe... 7" would be better but you should still be fine with an 8" . I wouldn't go below 10-12 PSI though. Just in case carry a ratchet strap and some starter fluid (and a buddy with a lot of forearm hair |

Tirerack is wrong - the 245/75/16 MTR's list 8" rims http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyeartireselector/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Wrangler+MT%2FR&mrktarea=Light+Truck&treadwidth=245&aspectratio=75&rimdiameter=16&sidewall=BSL&requestFrom=Search%20By%20Size I'm sure it was a requirement for them to be used as OEM otherwise it would open Jeep up for potential lawsuits |
