Hey guys, I've been trying to locate a set of Grabber AT2's in the 245/70/16's online but i'm having some trouble. I did find a set of 235/70s on tirerack for a great price and in stock, ships in a day. I'm wondering how the 235's look and perform compared to the 245's. What do you guys think??

The difference is 245/70 is exactly the same diameter as 225/75 which is a factory size. Therefore, in my opinion, I would NEVER use 235/70 since that's going shorter. I realize that 235/70 was a factory size as well, but it shouldn't have been. The "optional" tire size should never be shorter than the standard size. What a rip off.

If I were you, I'd settle for nothing less than the 245s.

Tirerack has the Grabber at2's on backorder in that size. Anyone know where I can find a set of the 245s for around the same price?

Hit up your local shops (Tire Discounters, NTB, Sears, etc.) and see if any of them will price match. Some places will match prices with Tire Rack. Not many, because Tire Rack blows everybody out of the water, but some places might. It's worth a shot.

The 245/70R16 has a tread depth of 16/32nds. The 235/70R16 has a tread depth of 13/32nds. You will get more mileage out of the larger size. I would hold off until you can find the 245's.

I just got my 245/70/16's about 2 weeks ago from Tirerack. Yes, they were on backorder but they eventually got them in and were shipped to me in 1 day. Didn't take too long for them to get. Don't get the 235. I was in the same dilemma as you. The 245's are much better and more aggressive. Here's some pics:
