I have had my duratracs on for about 2k miles now. I just got back from a weekend trip to MN where I got to drive them through all sorts of first snowstorm slop. THEY ARE AWESOME! These tires are like glue! So far no noise issues, and the grip the road as well as the loose terrain.

Right now I'd still purchase them again.

finally got a full sized spare after going without for a couple months.

guy mounted, rotated, reset the bead twice and only added one small 25g weight to balance my load C 265/75/16 on MOAB. idk how people complain about these things not being able to balance. only gotten stuck once in sticky mud that my buddy with 33s M/Ts got stuck in also. they do great aired down to 18(lowest ive gone yet) on local terrain. man i love these tires!

Hey Tom,

Just started pricing these at lunch hour today and came across a price difference between the load rating and ply ratings on LT245/75r16 and was wondering what you guys ran.

At the local shops I can get this tire in either a 108/104Q C ply or the 120/116Q E ply but the E is from $20-40 canuck bucks more per tire... that's a lot of loonies :)

I guess technically everything depends on application and weight but would I have to air down the E tire like crazy on a lighter vehicle like the libby? Or is the C tire just fine for the average weekend warrior?

Thx!

(The cheaper Canadian Duratrac clone I'm looking at also has an E load rating - the Territory)

im happy with my C rated tires. there are alot of opinions on which rating is better. i chose C for ride comfort because they are not as stiff, which means they conform to terrain better also when aired down. they also weight and cost less.

went wheeling today and chewed up my rim pretty good on an old drainage tubing but didnt hurt the tires sidewall at all. i have 265 on 8" wide rims and aired down to 18 with no problems.

I got these just before the bad weather hit and I have been nothing but impressed with them, I have drivin the passes and gone up to Mt.Hood....these own the snow, as far as rain I have drivin in the worst rain of 2010 in Portland, OR (over 1" in one day) and they never skipped a beat....now to get them muddy and sandy. I am running 245/75R16. When I upgrade my Hyundai (DD) to a YJ I'll put these on it to!!!

We just got a set of Goodyear Duratracs installed last week. So far, we've been very impressed. We had about 8" of snow last week, and the new tires really grabbed the road. They're also very quiet compared to the Grabber AT2s we had before.

Claymore the Wonder Collie approves.

Flattened pinch weld.

Image
I also bent the front air dam forward a bit to allow for a little more clearance.

Image
The only problem with these tires is with my rear glass. We sustained some damage a few months back when we managed to get all five tires in contact with the ground at the same time (long story), which bent our rear gate and spare tire mount. A few washers angled the tire far enough back to allow the glass to clear it.

Yeah, we like these tires, and we got them (LT245/75R16s) mounted and balanced for under $200 each. Looking forward to wheeling them this April.

I was wondering for you guys who run the 245/75/r16 C's, what kind of power loss and mpg loss did you get? I am trying to decide between these and some more Toyo AT 255/70r16's (awesome tire btw, just a little limited for trail use with the weak side wall).

Was wondering the same thing as I'm about to get these ordered... maybe not MPG as it's often vehicle-subjective but what each tire weighs would be nice.

(In the end trying to get a rough weight difference between a P235/70R16 on stock aluminums VS LT245/75R16 (108C) on a Cragar Soft8 16x7 ... not just for the rolling weight but also how much weight I'm putting on the rear door hinge with my spare if I want to bolt some other gear back there)

Funny how weight is not much of a specification criterion anyplace, or I'm not Googling hard enough.

The real weight is in the soft *s they are heavy
look at TIRERACK it lists all of the tires, weight per tire etc. 10 minutes on line will give you all the info you want

Hey I was looking at getting these same tires, same size, one I got mine lifted (frankenlift ii) but thinking of just leaving them on the stock renegade rims if they cause no problem. They seem like a good tire

245-75s will work out OK on stock wheels and lifted
should have no problems
can't believe how many people are getting these finally

was gonna start a new thread on my new tires, i'll just add here.......

Only several miles on them but noticeably quieter and smoother compared to the worn out Maxxis Bighorns that were on there. Went for the 15's so future replacements will be cheaper. Even with buying some new 15" rims the total was only the cost of one rim more than the price of 4 16" tires alone.

looking forward to some wheeling to see how they handle the terrain out here.
