This is why I don't look at tire threads. They end up like oil threads.

Every one is entitled to their own opinion......

johnnyloco, you are entitled to your opinion, HOWEVER, your attitude will not be tolerated. If you have anything else that you would like to discuss in private, or if you have any thing else for tommudd, Contact me.

Tommudd or anyone else who wants to chime in.
Any suggestion between 16x8 5"BS vs 16x7 4"BS with the LT245/75R16 Duratracs?

I am leaning toward the 16x8s because will probably be more likely to be used for a set of wider set of tires later on after more mods.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced any problems with a 8" wide wheel on a 245mm wide tire.

Actually a 245-75 on a 8 inch wheel is pushing it some, ( I know Jeep did it with the Rubicons) but anything we can run works just as well on a 7 inch wide one.
Although I like my MOAB's I wish they were 7 inch. 265-70s sit well on an 8 inch though
For example Troy is running 8 inch wheels with his 35s so unless you just like the looks of an 8 inch or are going REALLY big later I think I would almost stick with 7s
be back though going to look something up

I have my 245/75/16 C's on stock renny wheels and they seem to do fine. I did catch a log once that put some chunks in the bead that caused a little bit of a leak. I think that it may have pushed it righ off the bead if I would have had a wider wheel. I really like my combo other than the fact they don't stick out like tom's. I really like the more aggressive stance.

as some of you are aware, i am running 245/75/16 duratracs and i love them so far.

i have put roughly 3,000 on them already and the wear is there.. not noticable, but it is there. anyway my question is about rotating them... what would be the best rotation pattern for these tires?

some people do front to back and never change the direction, while others cross rotate them. anyone have suggestions? or preference?

thanks

josh

front to back.

thats my prefered method but i rotate mine every 2-3k because it spends more time off road than on.

I do what it calls for in the manual
Fronts cross and rears come straight up ..I think thats the way
if you keep them on the same side the right side will be worn out way sooner then the left side.

I rotate every 3000 or so, have 6000 on mine and no real wear that I can tell!
