Post subject:  Good Year MT/R Kevlar Reviews
I haven't had them on my rig for a really long time, but I have driven them off road in harsh conditions, in lots of rain and in dry conditions too. And have had a few ask for reviews of them after I drove them around a bit.

On the road they are fairly quiet for an off road tire. Much quieter than my 31" Trxus tires.
It rained all day one day last week for over 24 hours and the MT/Rs were great in the rain. No sliping at all and no apparent loss of traction at all when comparing to dry conditions. Very impressed.
Off road they are amazing in the rocks. I aired them down to only 20 psi and they still wrapped around boulders and stuck to everything. They did good in the wet stuff, but not great. They cleaned very easily with very little throttle. They are not a Mud tire like Super Swampers but for the amount of mud my jeeps sees they will be great. If you play in gumbo a lot, I'd get another tire.

Overall I am extremely pleased with everything about the tires.

Those just look sick! I like the new tread design, I wonder how long they've been R+D them! With the added Kevlar, I think they might even be more popular than their old MT/R

I think more would buy them if the tread pattern wasn't so strange. They are not directional but they look like they are. Goodyear did a great job designing them for sure.

I have to agree with INC on the tires, I took them through windrock and had no major slipping issues

Then I drove home 9 hours through the rain and had no issues losing traction.

I have about 1500 miles on them already after 10 days.

They are more money and they do weigh more.

There is snow up in the mts. here, but I have been into the high elevations in a while. Hopefully soon.

I got to test these tires out in the snow and ice yesterday. They performed great. It was on a gnarly trail to boot, but they still did surprisingly well. These tires are friggin fantastic.

These are great tires but LOUD on the road. I took my KJ to Calico yesterday with the SoCal club and the MTRs did great. If you can stand the noise they are well worth the money for the off-road performance.

I don't notice the noise any more than I did on my 31" Trxus, but they are louder than street tires for sure.

I'm sure INC's suspension absorbs some of that vibration and noise, but I could be wrong. Also, LOAD E is too much for the KJ, therefore more road noise is expected.

We got a foot of snow last night and it is still snowing today. May get a foot more by tonight. The new MT/Rs are fantastic in the snow. They were great in the snow on the trails when I took it in the mountains on Saturday for tree hunting and they were great on the icy and snow covered roads today. I stayed in 2wd and never had any issues.

For big lugs, little sipping, and the absent mountain/snowflake symbol, I’m surprised they do that well in snow and ice.

I've loved how the MT/Rs have performed in the snow -- we've gotten 15-18" since Christmas eve. So far, I definitely am very pleased with my Kevlar MT/Rs.

Can be a little loud on the road at times, but it seems like you can alter this via the pressure. To me, they seem quietest when aired around 38 psi and noisiest when aired around 33-35 psi.

yea but those trxus were the loudest mtr i have ever had

Wow, that's good to know. I usually run about 33psi in mine. I'll try a few more PSI for the sake of the noise.

What is the maximum PSI for these tires?

Best tires ever conceived by mankind but I acknowledge that they're only for the serious enthusiast.
