So, There I was one day thinking, gosh, with this new frankenlift, I oughtta be able to wheel over anything. So I get in my jeep and go wheeling. First rock I go over, my wheel scrapes the front wheel well, and then when the back tire goes over it, the wheel scrapes that one too.

Then on the passenger side of the car, I rub again when I go down a small creek bed, and rub again going back up.

So I go to the local 4wd shop, and ask if they can do some more fender trimming, and they reply that I cannot trim much more because the sheetmetal under the flares is part of the unibody.

My biggest problem was that I got too much of an offset for my wheels. For anyone else looking at getting steel wheels, do not get 3.75" backspacing, its a bad idea. Looks great but turns the Liberty into a completely non-functional 4x4.

Are your tires running into the wheel wells, or the fenders?

What model wheels do you have? Tires? Pics?
When you say the "wheel scrapes the wheel well", do you mean the tire, or the actual wheel/rim? A lot of people with a 2.5" lift and 245/75s on stock rims hear tire rubbing all the time, myself included. Take out the wheel well linings like Calvin56 did. I wish I had the time to do that!

I had the Rockcrawler 97 series 15x8" 3.75" BS, and I had 31x10.5" BFG All Terrain TA KO's. It was rubbing on the front fender well and that was without flexing. The far out offset of those rims turned the wheel assembly into a pendulum, and when I turned, the whole wheel kind of pivoted rather than rotated.

Before I had the wheels and tires installed, and I was just running on the stockies, the front tires would rub against the sway bar before I even turned to full lock.
