Hi all, After running the stock tires for 5 years (I cannot believe I survived that long)! I am thinking of buying a new set of BFG All Terrain T/A 245/70R16. Based on the charts they should fit with no rubbing issues on a stock KJ Sport 2005. Do you guys think I might have problems due to sagged springs (I have never measured them to be honest)? Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with that size? How much difference will I see on the road compared to stock width? (I have a manual so I mostly run in 2WD and cornering is an issue on bad pavement with stock tires) thank you yannis |

The only rubbing issues I can think of would be your pinch welds in the front wheel wells. I only say that because you mentioned sagging springs though, since 245/70/r16 is the biggest size you can go unlifted with no trimming. The handling will be much better with the new tires, and BFG's are a good tire as well for on and offroad. The only negative would be maybe 1-2 mpg lost, if that. Just my ![]() |

They should be OK and you won't even notice the difference in mileage, ride will be better, way better for that matter Go for it |

I've got the 245/70/16's on my 03 Renny unlifted. Looks good, barely rubs at pinch (pounded it down anyways) and at the fog light door. Pics for person asking: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Front fender ![]() |

A little late, no lift: ![]() With 1.5" lift: ![]() NEVER an issue with rubbing, even with one wheel off the ground. |

That tire size really looks good on a non-lifted Lib. The BFG All-Terrains are a good choice. They last forever. |

Q? do wheel spacers help the tires to not rub? or does it hurt |

steve03sport wrote: Q? do wheel spacers help the tires to not rub? or does it hurt Depends if you are rubbing in the first place. It's all a geometry game. Pushing the tires too far out will cause issues when turning, and when you flex, you may just rip off the fender. |

Mine are not BFG but still 245/70R16. No rubbbing and I hope if they still have tread when I lift they will still look good. these have been great tires. They handle wet and snow well, been off road and did well there too. THey seem to be wearing good and seem quiet on the road. This is on the 235/70R16 that was on it when I got it. With the new tires ![]() |
