What the heck? Went from stock alloys to rene wheels...no changes to lift or tires...now I have serious rubbing. What's up with that? |

I thought they were the same backspacing as all the other OEM wheels? This is very odd. Like, my tires are ripping at the front air dam hard now...and with the standard alloys they didn't even touch it. Strange.. |

You kept the same tires? or you replaced the tires with the same size? If you replaced with the same size of a different brand (255/70R16), the 'actual' measurements of the new tire could be a bit taller/wider than your previous tire. To my knowledge, the renegade wheels have the same backspacing as all the other factory KJ wheels. |

Yes the tires are the same tires. Lift is unchanged. The only thing I did do is get an alignment...would that push them out far enough to make them start rubbing this bad? Surely not...but it's the only explanation I can think of. |

I have an '03 Renny with 255 70 16 Firestone Destination AT tires on my OME lifted Jeep. The tires rub on the front of the fender liners on hard turns and the outside of the rear tires rub on the edge of the fender on big flexes. I have softened the liners with a heat gun and pushed them in quite a bit, but they still rub a little. Of course the person that installed the OME kit didn't see fit to put extended bump stops in the rear, but I think the wider tires, and maybe the Renny wheels have something to do with the scrapping on the fender in the rear. |

Funny after I lifted my Kj Stock wheels/235/70/16's it didn't touch anywhere... but after I had it lined up the tires hit the sway-bar and front of the wheel well. Never wore tires at all tho and drove great. |

That must be it. Apparently there is enough play that when they line up the front end on the machine, it causes the wheels to move enough to push the tires into the fenders. Never would have thought you'd get 1" more play from an alignment... but I guess so. |

there is a pretty big camber difference when lifting and realigning |
