How crucial is it to run hubcentric wheels on a Liberty? Most aftermarket steel wheels are not hubcentric. |

I believe all KJ's have lug centric wheels. You can tell by the acorn style lug nuts designed to force the wheel to center around the lug. Hub centric means that the wheel is a tight fit around the hub so that it centers the wheel. In hub centric the lugs just hold it to the hub and ussually are flat bottomed nuts. |

All OE wheels are hub centric to the specific vehicle they are designed for. With so many different center bores but same bolt patterns it would be a nightmare for aftermarket wheel companies to have hub centric wheels for every make/model.Unless your dersert running with jumps lug centric is just fine besides except for wheel spacers as they must be hub centric or will fail. The majority of the force keeping your wheels on is the torque appled to the lugnuts forcing it against the hub surface, just keep your lugnuts properly torqued and you'll be fine.I've ran lug centric wheels on my KJ for 8 years with zero issues and some heavy wheeling without issues. |

So with lug-centric steel wheels (cragar, black rock, etc.)...what is the proper type of lug nut to use? The stock acorn style nuts? Or should flat nuts be used? |

I would think the stock ones would work, unless they are too shiny. |

Check with the manufacturer or the place you buy the wheels from for the correct lug nuts. Might be on the mfgs website. |
