I just ordered these and been reading all morning...

I hope I didn't get the wrong rims...
I have a 2.5" lift and want to put slightly larger/bigger
tires on. I am running 245/70/16 now on stock Renny rims.

Ordered rims to avoid spacers...

Any thoughts/ideas?????
Or return them???

Thanks Matt.

What size tires are you going to run? 245-70s are going to be too small really for an 8 inch wheel
Then you have 8 inch with 4 inch back spacing so they are going to stick out quite a bit, extra rub on the pinch weld possibly.
Better alternative to stock is 16X7 with 4 inches of backspacing plus most all tire sizes we can run fit well on a 7 inch wheel
Of course some will tell you no problem run them

So, I am one of the ones that Tom mentions that runs 16X8's with 4" backspacing.
You will have to trim the front of the front wheel wells (both the flare and the liner above the fog light door) and pound the pinch weld. Rear should work OK with your lift.

If you can return and exchange for 7", might save you some headaches. As mentioned before on this forum if I were to do it over I would get 7" wheels.

Now, if you keep the 8" wheels and do the mods it looks really gnarly with meaty meats! Amazing stability from the extra inch on each side.

I am running 245/70/16's already with
no rubbing, so not sure what the difference is
except they'll stick out about 1 and a half more..

We measured the stock rims and they were
16x8 w/ 5 3/4 back spacing.

So am I doing something wrong then?

And even if I get the 7" rims they will make the
tires appear ballooned on the rims, no?

And still have the 4" B/S

The tire will stick out, by about 1.5" and that is
what I'm trying to do...
I don't want to buy spacers<-------trying to AVOID.

stock rims are 7 inch, bringing them out lets the turning arc hit the flares and inner fenders more Mine are 8 inch wide with 5 inches of back spacing and hit the flares if i don't run enough bumpstops
16X7 works great with way fewer problems and sits the tire out far enough

I went out and played with my Renny, turning the
steering wheel back and forth....seen!
Looks like I'm pounding and cutting...my have to stay with
the 245/70/16 tires....can't go wider yet.

Also with a 8" wide rim and 4" of BS if you flex the rear out often you will rip the rear flares off many times. Why I had my rear flares removed for the longest time till I went to a 7" rim with 4.5" of BS(and yes had 3" of bumpstops in the rear).
