Thanks! I'm surprised that they handle very very well for an AT tire. I'm a very aggressive driver and beat the hell out of the Jeep. No incidents with these tires. No fishtailing or loosing control. I had a lot of fun with them in the 2 blizzards we had here in NY this past winter. I drove down unplowed streets with 12-24" of snow with great ease.

Awesome. That's probably the size and tire I'm going to go with when I get new ones.

stock height....well not really LOL. seen here with about 1.5" of sag with soft 8's. 245/70/16. slightest ever rub on plastic of pinch weld at full turn due to the backspace of the softies.

Image

here it is with stock wheels and maybe 1" of sag. No rub whatsoever.

Image

here it is with Mudd's lift and gaining 4" of lift over the sag...3 inches of lift over stock

Image

at the end of this summer prior to bad weather I'm going to Duratrac 245/75/16s...that's the stuff!!! :JEEPIN:

lol idk what lifts you buy. but 2.5 inch lift is enough for 265's and.. with 285's u just get rubbing and like no movement lol. if u trim the plastic down you have room. i know.. i did it. :ROTFL: ill take a pic when i get home

although with this theres not much room for movement of the tires. hence why im lifting it higher. 8)

it also helps that the engine isnt all stock.. so i have power

i saw your cardomain...there is no way those are 285. i have seen 285 on a bigger lift than yours and they are huge looking, yours look like 245/75 all terrains

LibertyGuy,

Did you have any rubbing issues at all with the 245/70-16?

I have a 2007 Sport with the steel wheels and I am looking at the same tires.
I don't mind to get the 235/70-16 at all if they rub. The tick smaller size is cheaper anyways.

That tire size is exactly same diameter as stock, and less than one inch wider.
It is the size I will be putting on within the month. My suspension at this point is completely stock.
If I have any tire rubbing issues, I will definitely post, but at this time I cannot imagine that I will.

First how much has yours sagged ?
That will depend on if you can use 245-70-16s
measure from very middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare
235-70-16s are stock size so they should work if not sagged too much

AFTER April 12, 2002 height would be 19 inches as measured above

Thank you for that info. I thought I'd gone a little crazy before. But truth is my front end really did sag some, and then finally the rear settled to match. I wasn't aware sagging was common. I had at one time though about doing a leveling kit. But then it settled itself out and ride improved.

Mine isn't 19" so now I know I haven't lost it lol. It's a bit over 18" both ends.

I bought 235/70R16 again. After checking with these new tires I think the 245/70R16 would have fit fine without rubbing.

When my 2004 was brand new ( well less than 10,000 miles ) 245-70-16s rubbed some when fully turned and off road
Ride has to be bad , weak springs and shocks worn

Question, I see you guys say you have 245/70/16 General Grabber AT2 on your Jeep Liberty, I called a tire company and they said my 04 Renegade should be 235-70-16. Would 235 AT2's fit?

235-70-16s were one of the optional sizes on the KJ
Now before you do anything measure from middle of the wheel in front to bottom of the flare
After April 12, 2002 build date they were 19 inches.
I've had them in my garage where they were sagged down to 17.50-17.75 and 235-70-16s were rubbing
and that was with less than 80,000 miles
So before you buy measure first
