Will this size tire be ok on an 8" rim? How much smaller than a 245-75-16?
Any one have pics of that size on a lifted liberty? There was a link to a comparison calculator but I can't find.
Thanks ahead of time

It will fit but is the wheel is 1/2" wider than the max suggested rim size for that tire size. Ran that combination for awhile, didn't really have any issues.

However, if you have not already bought rims go with 7" and save yourself a lot of aggravation. If you already have 8" rims, depending on the back spacing and lift you have, be prepared for some fitment issues. If you don't have a lift you will have major rubbing both front and back (how much depends on your backspacing). If you have a lift you will only need to pound the pinch welds in the front.

About 1.5" difference in height to the 245/75 and about 1/2" in width. Have that combination now with 4" back space 8" wheels. Had to trim the front a bit and run a 3" bumpstop in the back.

The guy that you get to mount them will hate you for even bringing them in, too narrow of a tire for an 8 inch wheel

check the manufacturer's web site - they list rim widths for their tires
I don't think any allow 235's on 8" - but I haven't checked that size
there are some that okay 245/70/16 on 8" - if you have SL or P rated tires

Sidewall strength is a factor - but go with the manufacturer's recommendation.
