Hey guys,
Im looking at getting some cragar soft 8's for my renny. Wanted to get some opinions from those of you who have the soft 8's. I have the renny rims now and i like them but that look of an all black wheel and tire is just awesome. Any thoughts?

Here is my rig, its stock for now except for my surco roof rack..

I personally like the look of the D-Windows more than the Soft 8's. I would have bought them but where I ordered my 8's from only had 1 D window in stock.
I really like those Cowl mounted lights, what size and how much do they interfere with your line of site? Sorry for the Hi-Jack :)

Nice looking rigs guys. So i was looking up tire sizes and it seems that 245/70's are the biggest that will fit my stock lift with perhaps some rubbing. I think im going to hold off on a lift for now and i believe that the cragar soft 8's with some 245/70's will look darn good, and i dont mind a little trimming to counter the tire rubbing. Anyone have experience running the cragar soft 8's with some 245/70's on stock springs??

How is the brake clearance with 15s? I would love to go to 15s but I also want my brakes to breathe.

Yeah 501s pics are what is making me consider 245 75 16 tires.

Im running a frankenlift premium 2 with JBA UCAs. The tires are 245 70 16 look a bit smaller, but not terrible. Definitely want some soft 8s though. As for clevis lifts I cant help there, but frankenlifts (full OME now) make the jeep handle and drive ALOT better. Well worth the time and money.

Well I was around the high 17in low 18in range stock, now Im 23.5 front 21.2ish in the rear (need rear isos bad). I love it but I really need to twist her up to break it in more.

Yeah 245 75 16s are way to big for stock KJs, I believe the tallest tire is a 235 75-16 which is a 29.8ish in tire.

Edit: whoops! Meant 75 and not 85!

Yeah 245 75 16s are way to big for stock KJs, I believe the tallest tire is a 235 85-16 which is a 29.8ish in tire.

That my Friend would be wrong

235/85/16 = 31.7x9.3/16

Lol whoops meant to say 235 75 16. Doh!

Oh and forgot to mention that size is probably on fresh stock or prelowered kj as 245 70 16s sometimes rubbed at full lock. But then again I was also sagged a lot.

I say keep your rims and black them out, maybe keep the brushed aluminum outside ring around it. Do something different other than those rims every one is running. 245 70 16 fit stockers just fine, I ran mine from about 20,000 miles to just recently at 41,000 roughly then got lifted. Prior to the lift I had no rubbing at all but then again this has been discussed in the tire section many times. :JEEPIN:

Not a problem at all really. I know first hand when your new and want answers ya want them right now. I found with a bit of carefull reading and or research you will find just about everything ya want to ask when new, already asked somewhere
As far as your rims go I wish I had a set of belly button soft 8 to dish off to ya as I would trade ya in a second for those factory aluminum rims. Like I said already I would consider doing something different with your factory rims, as there is nothing wrong with them. Maybe doing them in black with the aluminum ring on the outsdie or going full black but I know what I would do  But also to each his or her own which is what makes owning a Jeep so fun but is also why I choose to do things a lil different if and when I can :JEEPIN: Have fun and good luck :JEEPIN:

Buggin,
Thanks for the :2cents: I have seen a couple guys on here do their rims black, it does look nice. The more i think about it and the more i research the forums i feel like it would just be easier/better to lift it a couple inches, then i would be able to have more fun with it and put some meaner tires on it. :JEEPIN:

Another reason to do soft 8s or moabs is to lessen or possibly fix the sway bar rubbing at full lock. Other then looks thats my main reason.

At 41,000 something and running 245 70 16's Destination At's, I had no rub at all. The look is personal which is why I would sway away from the soft 8's, everyone seems to get them at first instead of doing something different. Just my :2cents:
