Howdy ticokj welcome to LOST

Odds are against the 245/75/16's working - you can put them on and they'll roll forward fine - but if you try to turn or go over bumps they'll rub.

The only chance of them working well - would be if you had an early 02 (manufactured before I think Mar or Apr 02) - that has very low miles.

in that magical combination - you might be 1" higher than everyone else and the springs haven't sagged...

but the probability is - the 245/75 will rub and the 240/70 will clear.

I have the 245/70R16 myself and they work very well for everything I've tried in them except heavy mud and differ off-road obstacles. The extra centimeter or so in diameter of the 245/75R16 makes a big difference off-road BUT as stated, you probably won't clear your body and suspension unless you have a lift.

So, in summary:
- 70s for all around use and light off-road (no issues with clearance)
- 75s for more off-road use and lifted (will have clearance issues without a lift).

There are other sizes that some folks like that fall into the gray area of hight/width/etc, but since you just asked about those :)

Just pound the pinch welds and trim the front bumper and if done right you can fit either of them. I myself am lifted running 245/70/17 and love them they did great in Utah.

I have some Bridgestone Dueler ATs 245/70/16 on my 06 and do just fine. They occassionally touch the front wheel well when turning. I never know it but see that they do touch.
