I had my mind set on a set of 245 75 r16 General Grabber AT2's, which is the biggest tire I can fit on my soon-to-be Frankenlifted KJ without any trimming. However, I have been doing some hunting and found that not as many people like them as I had originally thought. I have heard the tread wears quickly. What are your opinions? I do 95% of my driving on road rather than off. I don't care about gas mileage, I just want a tire that is more aggresive than the Long Trails I have now. Is the AT2 the right tire for me? Also, does anyone know where I can get the best deal on them? Thanks |

I have a few coworkers who run the Cooper ST's and love them. One guy has them on his TJ and he's 99.5% highway, I bet he gets 60-70K miles out of them....just another option. Have you tried Discount tire? They have a place right off 75 or 675 in Dayton, bet you could get internet price and go pick them up and save on shipping, even have them mount them. |

I'm running General Grabber AT2's and love them. Price has gone up for General Tires in general, used to be able to get them cheap at Walmart, but the stores in my area don't carry them anymore. Only complaint I have is that they get louder when cornering, I run them at 40 psi. They are pretty quite running down the highway. |

I'm looking at a set of AT2's as well for my KK. What kind of treadwear are you getting on them? I'm hoping to get a tire that will last about 50,000 miles. |

i have the grabber at/2's and dont like them at all. the tread wear is really bad.... but then again the guy at the tire shop thinks "i just got a bad set" wtf??? so we called general and they said " sorry we cant help you" so aside from crap tires i got crap customer service. NEVER AGAIN |

on my second pair of general grabbers and they're awesome. grab through pretty much anything, even mud which was surprising for an all terrain. theyre loud, but i cant hear it over my exhaust so that doesnt bother me. as for tread life, you cant expect anything AMAZING from a tire that gives good traction with an aggressive tread. overall for the price they work pretty darn good. |

I have been extremely busy at work for the last 2 weeks and have 2 more busy weeks ahead of me. Thankfully I get paid hourly (not much though) so my paychecks will be quite handsome. This means I am going to be ordering tires soon. I have decided to have TD performance order & mount my tires. It's only $200 more than what I can find online and after I install the lift they will mount & balance the tires, give it an alignment, and they also offer road hazard warranty. If anything goes wrong with them I have someone to come back and complain to (can't complain to a friend doing it for free). So I decided in the coming weeks after things simmer down and I get my lift installed I'll have TD Performance take care of the rest for $1050. |

when I get mine done, I plan on going to Big George's in Milford. My buddy at work had Big George do his wrangler lift and tires. I think he gets deals on 4wd and other places. I'm not positive on the cost compared to other places, but i've only heard good things. it would be worth checking out, and I've heard he's really friendly, so you can just drop in to ask him some questions. |

If ya'll ask, there are a few in cincy area that can help install a lift in about 3 hours for free. I know nothing about Georges other than driving past his shop a few times, but just saying. I've done a few installs, only thing that really sucks is taking front shock assembly apart to get the needed rubbers for new setups. Not had to deal with a fully assembled Frankie, bet that would cut time in half. |

I'm on the second set for my Cherokee. First set netted 41k miles until they were done to me. (They still had plenty of tread by other peoples standards...I gave them to a friend & he's still using them after another 12k) They're a great tire for me in the area I live. I do about 60% pavement, 40% sand & wet sand, typ of Jersey Pines) They are unbelievable in snow & rain. They key for me is rotating them often. My rear locker has an appetite for tires on asphalt. |

I'm just going to do it myself. brettacuff, did you go to TD Performance just because you did your lift over in that area, or do they do anything special there? I was thinking about going to the regular old Tire Discounters close to home on Fields Ertel. Going with Nitto Terra Grapplers 255/70R17 |

Actually they charge $21 per tire for road hazard so I went to Bob Sumerel on Tylersville. They only charge $10 for road hazard. I HIGHLY recommend Bob Sum. I've had bad experience with Tire Discounters. |
