How bad do you think 255/70's will rub on a stock 06??? I am striking out with lifts so I think that I am just going to stuff the biggest tire possible on this thing stock.

If you off-road it (which I assume you do since you bought a Jeep) then they will rub like crazy. Might even damage some things. But if you are street only you might possibly be OK. I'm lifted and 255s rub slightly still.

Why are you striking out with lifts?

Well I was trying to order a spacer lift through Rusy's and after 3 weeks they still didn't have the material in and then I ordered a 3 in billetlift and the front suspension just didn't like that spacer. Wouldn't go back together properly. So I sent that back. I don't want to spend a ton of money on a suspension lift right now. But now I am not too worried about it because I went out on a limb and mounted the AT2s that I already had and they fit with no problem... no rubbing so far. Although very, very, close. And believe it or not the suspension is stock with 245/75 AT2's.

Are you serious? No rubbing with a 245/75R16 on a stock KJ? I went to Big O and had them test fit a 245/70R16 Big O A/T on our stock '04 KJ and lock to lock it was really almost touching the wheelwell just sitting in the bay. I have decided against a lift due to expense, reports of problems with spacer lifts and also torn CV boots but would like to go with a tire size of 235/75R16 or 245/70R16 (in this latter size I would maybe go with the AT2 unfortunately not available in the 235/75). I was wondering how you like the ride on the road and/or highway of those AT2s and also if you have a pic. of your stock vehicle with that 245/75 AT2 on it.
Thanks, Brian

Yeah, I thought there would be quite a bit of rubbing too, but so far nothing. I put it on some uneven ground to flex a bit but nothing. When I say it is close... I mean it, but for no more than I usually do I have no rubbing so far. There is a place I am going to go this weekend and I bet I can get it to rub then, so we will see. You can definetly hear the tires on the road but that is to be expected, but otherwise nothing to bad. And it looks TUFF! If I can get my hands on a digital camera, since mine is broke, I will give ya'll some pics. That is if I can figure out how to post on here.
