Hey guys. I have debating tires a long time now...while I get the last bit out of my current General Grabber AT2s figure I would research. I have frankenlift on and was planning to do 265/70r16 AT tires. I dont plan to regear so was trying to stay at 31" diameter. Today I checked a local store out and the guy was willing to work me a killer deal on a set of 265/75r16 General Grabber Red Label tires. The overall diameter of these state only 31.6" not 32" like most other in this size. I can get them for $130 a piece!! Its tough to pass up at that price. There arent many reviews for this tire, but saw RED_KJ(something like that..he has a red SFA) was running them in 33". My biggest concern is the gearing issue. I dont drive highway all that often but I dont want problems when I do. What do you guys think? Take the chance and see if that .4" in less diameter is enough to not have issues? I should add that I am on stock renegade wheels with 1.5" spacers all around.
Thanks

You will
bye bye overdrive for the most part
If you look most all 32 inch tires are in the 31.5 area or so
Red-KJ has a SFA as well

I have 245/75/16 Treadwright warden a/t's https://www.treadwright.com/p-100-245-75r16-warden-a-t-c.aspx and i have no issues. They measure 30.75" I had the dealer recalibrate the speedo and it made a big difference on the shift points. It was a dog before the calibration.

OK, stopped laughing now

I've ran 235-70s
245-70s
255-70s
245-75s
265-70s
and now 265-75s

Didn't notice much power loss until I hit the 265-75s
was ready to pull them back off within the first 100 miles
but well,.... since I had the 4.10s laying in the garage waiting
wasn't a big deal
But again you'll notice a big power loss , some are just in denial :ROTFL:

I didnt know the dealer could recalibrate the speedo. I was hoping to get an awesome deal I could tell everyone about. Id rather be on the safe side. I appreaciate the feedback from both of you. So far Mr. Mudd hasnt steered me wrong on advice so I gotta trust him on this one. I'll stick to my original plan of 265/70r16.
On a side note. I have been reading pretty much every tire review known to man..especially on the Treadwrights since they are the only ones to offer an MT in the size I want. The more I dug the more I found some bad issues popping up on them. Alot of people claiming sidewalls blowing out and cracking/splitting along the area that the tread is bonded. In most cases this was after a year or so of use. They are saying that a sidwall breaks down after the original wear...then they are retreaded and expected to hold up another few years. There is no way of Treadwright testing the sidewall integrity other than a visual inspection. I got really off topic here, but figure id let you know what I read. may be a good idea to inspect them a little more often than you would normal tires. I have read countless reviews that they are amazing as well.
