Hey guys, about to have my new 265's mounted to my steel wheels and I'm trying to figure out what to do about the TPM sensors. I'd like to keep them, but it's looking like it's going to be more of a pain than it's worth. So far I've found that out that I cannot use the steel stems with my new steel wheels and will need to get rubber ones. I can't find a part # that is a full replacement TPM with a rubber stem though I can find these rubber stems:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TIRE-PRESSURE-S ... 13&vxp=mtr

I'm being told by the dealership that I can use my existing TPM's and just unscrew the metal stem and screw this one on. Can anyone verify that?

Surely someone else on the board has gone down this road with steel wheels?

Last, if I decide to just forget about it, is there a way to permanently disable it via the computer? Could the dealership possibly turn it off?

Thanks!

Jason

I don't think the sensors will work with steel wheels. The steel messes up the signal. Maybe try one of your original's to see.

Seriously doubt any dealer would disable the TPMS. Little thing called liability...

Black out the light, disable the chime....or live with it.

There was a post about a rebuild kit for TPMS I think it was o-rings? But that tire seems too big is your Jeep modded?
I don't think it matters if rims are steel they have TPMS sensors in stock steel rims.
