I'm in need of new tires. The KK I just picked up has some very used ones on there. Kicked traction control on a few times driving last night while going around a couple corners at very low speed in the rain.

What's a common size for stock ride height? Any brands/models that you guys recommend? I'm looking for something that will take daily miles, as well as give me good traction off road, but won't completely break the bank lol. Anything?

I have the stock wranglers with very low miles for $300.00 if you're close to akron Ohio.

Depends on where you are/ if you need tires that work good in the snow, ( snow flake designation etc)
If you're in Texas the right tire maybe somewhat different than someone in Maine or Alaska

I'm in Ohio. We see all 4 seasons, and I'd like something that's decent in the snow. I wont be doing any hardcore mudding (I'm still stick ride height right now) but def would like to take it off road. That doesn't necessarily have to be the main purpose of the tire though as its also my daily.

Look for a good all season (AT ) tire with snow flake symbol
Lots of good ones out there
Goodyear Silent Armour, Duratracs, etc
Didn't know anyone that lived in Ohio owned a Jeep  :ROTFL:

You can go 245/70/16 stock. I would recommend goodyear wrangler dura tracs. Not because its just what I'm running. I feel it's a really good tire and most people run those tires on here. They have the snow flake emblem and they ride really well on the highway, awesome in mud and sand.

I second that, I just picked up a set of these since we deal with a bit of snow up here in Canada.

Stock tire size is 225/75/16, but you can also fit 245/70/16's or 235/75/16's (this is the size I went with when I was stock).

Some all terrain tires with the snowflake symbol:

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT
General Grabber AT2
Goodyear Wrangler Dura Tracs
Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor
Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61

The Dura Trac's have the most aggressive tread design of the above choices.

Thanks for the help guys!

I don't know how soon I'd be able to lift it, so I went with 235/70/16 General Grabbers AT-R's. Should be here in a few days.

Let's see......

I have gone through 4 sets of tires and I only have 91k on the KJ. Thanks to my lifts and agressive driving and off-roading.
1. OEM GY Wrangler SR-A 235/70/16
2. GY Wrangler MT/R 245/75/16
3. Maxxis Bighorn LT265/75/16
4. Firestone Destination AT P245.75.16 (current tire but already needs replacing)

SR-A sucked.
MT/R rocked but loud on road and expensive to buy new
Maxxis softer than MT/R (wore really fast) - a lot cheaper price
Destinations - wore really fast on outer edges...thinking to stay away from P-metrics this next time.

Use Tire Rack.com to get reviews and ratings. For Ohio, since I grew up in Lancaster, I would go with AT's unless you get out in a lot of mud. BF Goodrich KO's & KM's or the MT/Rs are great choice there.

Hankook Dynapro ATM's
A good AT tire at a good price that does really well in snow, rain, and everyday driving.
