I have a 2005 crd with an old man emu 1.5 in lift. I have stock 16 in wheels with 225x75x16. I want to put aggressive a/t tires on it. Im looking to have a little wider width appearence than stock and max hight of course without rubbing. any suggestions on wheel width, backspace and tire size. Thanks

I went into a tire shop today and they told me that 245x75x16 on a 16x7 rim with a 4 in backspace will stick out past the wheel wells too much. Is that true?

ah
never mind
Common sense tells you they are the same
But wanted to make sure that people knew unlifted you can not run them
Many others besides the OP read this for information
You know that Cherrie274

yes that's why I pointed it out. The question was about width not height. Common sense.

With only 1.5 in lift from old man emu I only wanted it to be flush with the flares. Would changing the backspace from 4" to something
Else work. What is the backspace on the stock 05
Limited rims?

If I keep keep the stock limited rims and put 245x75x16 tires on them how much wider will they look. I have 225x75 on them now. thanks

They will stick out 1 CM further, less than 1/2 inch... close to an inch wider overall, just under the diameter of a quarter if that helps.

Stock BS id 5.5 inches. With 245 aspect tires and 1.25 inch wheel spacers from spydertrax your tires should be flush.

Personally I would just stick with stock wheels and your 247/75 r 16 tires

So arengant would you keep the stock and use the wheel spacers? Thanks bill

I had the spacers but took them off. My personal preference because it stuck out too far. I say stock wheels no spacer... only down side is you would rub your sway bar at full lock ( but I feel full steering lock is bad anyways)

:JEEPIN: I plan on buying a set of Cepek 16x8 DC-2 wheels for our 06 Ltd. I would like to use the DC FC II, LT 265 /75R16 tires. We are presently running the Rusty's 2" lift with stock rims and 245/75R 16 tires with a little bit of rub at full lock but with the additional offset, I may get away with the extra inch of diameter. The front is still lower than the rear so I may add the Rusty's 2" front spacers above the 2" longer front struts to give us a total of 4". Any Comments? :jester:

stick with a 16X7 with 4 inches of back spacing first
second without regearing 265-75-16 are too big
third..........you're asking for a huge mess trying to run a bagged out Rustys lift with their spacer lift Huge mess
Need to rethink

Those Rustys springs first were never meant to be on a CRD they are rated at 100 lbs less than the stock CRDs .

Post subject:  Re: NEED HELP ON WHEEL WIDTH AND TIRES

So that is why the front end is so much lower than the rear....But what to do now? Does anyone make a proper spring for a longer strut? I realize the 265's are too big, I will go back with 245's grippers. Just for giggles, I lifted the front an additional 2" tonight with a floor jack and it looks awesome, level even! I don't mind spending money, I just don't like wasting money. I sure appreciate the advice, the 16 x 8's will be here tmrw however.

Post subject:  Re: NEED HELP ON WHEEL WIDTH AND TIRES

OME 790 springs for the front plus OME front shocks
stock CRD springs are rated at 410 lb
OME 790s are rated at 500 lb
will give you lift plus will last a lot longer than stock or the Rustys ever would
