Re-tread tires

Treadwrights are about the only real game in town

The warden was the tire I was looking at except a 245/75/16. how much trimming did you have to do to stuff those 265s in there?

I was about to get treadwrights, then I read about them...alot. like every single article I could find. I decided they are not worth the little savings they get you.
everyone has an opinion on them but from what i have read it just makes sense that they are not a good option for a daily driver
tire casings are designed to have a lifespan. That lifespan is the amount of time the tire is designed to last. So you take a tire that has been run for 4 or 5 years. The sidewalls have had stress on them all that time and just the simple fact of rubber aging is an issue. Then you slap a new tread on it and expect that sidewall to behave and hold up like it is new. Its not intended to do that. There is absolutely no way for them to test the integrity of the sidewall from this standpoint. I dont remember every single fact on the matter because i researched it over a year ago, but i remember digging through there site and its stated in there that they are unable to determine this factor
Research treadwright sidewall failures and you will see alot of cases. treadwright is by and far the best retread out there though.

10k miles on my Treadwright Guard Dogs with Kedge Grip on Goodyear MTR/K casings and they're still like new. Love them. Great in on the road, as well as in the mud and snow.

Treadwrights are not your average retreads. I'll be buying another set as soon as these are done. Which, at this rate, won't be for another 60k miles or so.

Try them out. The price is right, great customer service, and you surely will not be disappointed.

Treadwrights are retreads period, they are like any others, all have to be done to a certain standard
Know a family who have been in the business since back in the 60s , they do theirs the same way as Treadwright. Worked for them some back in the 70s .
Any retread has its place depending on how and where you use it.
Not saying they are bad BUT for me, if I have a issue I don't want to wait a week or more to get a replacement. There is a market for them out there for someone who wants to save a few dollars or has them for trail tires.
I have 265-70-16 Treadwrights on my little trailer, they work fine on it but
For the DD I'll take new brand name

Ive got about 15k on the warden AT in 245/75/26. I absolutely love them. They are on my daily driver, I have no complaints at all. My next tires will absolutely be from treadwright. I paid $481 to my door, BFG All terrains would have been $905. You do the math!

spitfire, thats an incredible deal! when I looked into them it was around $820 shipped. To me it wasnt worth the gamble. I tend to think along the lines of Rev Mud on alot of things it seems

I was actually looking at some of the tire's speed rating and for the most part they are d and e. Now I don't know about you guys but to me that's a very low rating.

If D and E are correct that 40 and 43 mph, pretty low.

Ohhhh ok. I was about to say you wouldn't be able to use 'em on anything besides a designated trail rider.

Overwhelmingly the biggest failure cause for tires is low air pressure.
No difference whether it's new or retread.

other factors contributing to the fails are high speeds, high temperature, heavy loads.

retread vs new was way, way down the list

(the 2009 report is now firewalled but I remember the high points)
