Been studying this thread the past few days! I'm glad the 300s worked, going to look for some also. BTW, the p/n for a 17x7 version of the 18 hole wheel mentioned a few pages ago is 52125069AA. that's my full size spare.

Thanks! Do you know the BS on the full size? I know the stock 17" for KJs are 7.5 inches wide, and some KKs have 17x7 but I I thought all of those (aluminum wheels) had 5.5" of BS. I would assume the steel would be the same....

From my experience, the wider the wheel/tire package (i.e. from a combonation of wheel width, tire width, and Back Spacing) the more it will cause rubbing issues. However, you need enough back spacing to keep the wheels off the sway bar.

The 255/75r17 tires are a nominal size of 32.1" in Diameter at 10" wide. They fit on the JK wheels that are about 6.25" BS but I have 1.25" spacers so that puts them at 5" of BS. I believe with taller than 31" tires, you would need to run more than 5.5" of BS to clear the sway bar, generally speaking. Now, since I have narrowed my wheels from 7.5" wide JK wheels to 7" wide Chrysler wheels, but added about .5" of BS I am sure I will clear my sway bar but I hope I do not rub on the pinch weld.

There is a lot of research and math involved when changing wheels and tires from factory specs, so I just hope I got it right and I do not waste money :)

Even though your wheels look like they will work everything I am finding on www.myboltpattern.com shows them all at 5X115
and then with most having high positive offset
I think we need a medium to low positive offset like 20-22 mm or so
19mm=3.75 inches of backspacing
high positive they consider 35-55mm
medium 15-25
low positive 0-15

stock KJs have a 20-40 mm

Be interesting to see how they look on yours and set in the fenderwells
still concerned on the bolt pattern though

I understand your concern, but where did the website get it's information? Did they measure every wheel or do they pull it from some database?

That one guide I found on ebay I could buy and double check and see how that lines up... but it sure is hard for most gauges at the small .35 mm difference to know for sure.

Again, what proof do you need Tom to feel confident these will NOT cause lateral stress to the studs?

The Chrysler Wheels have have 12-22 the web site said vs the stock KJ (= appx 4.5" BS)

Haven't swapped over the tires yet. I was going to wait on TPMS stems, but that could be while! I need to finish these wheels then mount them up! (And buy a 5th!)

It looks like the BS is 4" on the full 17x7 spare with 18 holes. I am trying to find some used ones, the spare for the 07-11 Nitros would work too. I asked discount tire about the 300 wheel and they said a few people have tried to order it with them for a Jeep and they would order it, but would NOT install it on car. Something about liability issues... so i wouldn't try that route.

Never thought of the Dodge Nitro wheel
local yard has 3 at 50 each but I get a discount so we'll have to see
and they are for sure 5 on 4.5 . If they are 4 inches of backspacing then perfect for a lifted KJ

They use them for the spares ,
just black wheels like arengant has only more holes
18 to be exact
someone is already grouping these to sell since one person has 4 listed together at $220.00

In ALL my research I did not find a steel wheel with less than 5.5" of backspacing. I don't believe the nitro wheels are but let's hope I am wrong!!

I would not buy new 300 wheels (aluminum oem or aftermaket) but these oem steel ones are perfect!

That sucks tommudd! And I screwed up with BS of steel spare, was looking at something else. Still not sure what they are

I am looking at Unique 83s right now. Really trying to decide on tire size and if going big (for me 31.5" and up) makes the rim choices so limited with BS issues I think I'll stay little smaller but more aggressive tread. Good luck all! Still like those golf course wheels tho :-)r

Do you have a 17" spare steel on your KK?
