My Libby came with factory 17" wheels and I'd like to keep them but I could go to a 16" wheel if necessary. I usually prefer a more narrow tire...I ran 34x9.5 on my Wrangler. I've regeared to 4:10s already. 235/80r17 or 235/75 be ok?

Just for clarification, are the 4.10s in the Wrangler or Liberty?

Lol, actually both were regeared to 4.10 but I no longer own the wrangler.

Wow, cool. Okay. It was worded a little weird cuz ya never expect someone to have 4.10s in their Liberty.

Dang you like them skinny tires ( 235-80-17) ! Not a fan but they would work since you're at least regeared to 4.10s, I would of gone 4.56s really though , thats what I would be running if I could with the 32s.
Lot of difference in height between the two listed which are you leaning towards?
I would try and stay with one in the 30.5-31 range to keep power/mileage etc

OK so I narrowed down my choices to 3 in the 16" wheel (there are some Moabs for sale here pretty cheap) and 4 in the 17" to use my factory wheels.

16"
245/75 standard tire most run here with a lift
265/70 another popular tire size for a lifted kj; pretty much same diameter as 245/75 but a little wider
275/70 about half an inch taller, might rub

17"
235/75 slightly shorter than the 255/70 and more narrow...maybe best fit with no/minimal rubbing?
245/70 basically same as 245/70r16
255/70 basically same as 275/70r16
265/65 basically same as 265/70r16

I'm not clear if it is the height of the tire or width or both that contributes to the rubbing so not really sure which direction to go. I should probably stick with 17s just so I won't have the extra expense of new wheels but man do Moabs look good lol!

265-70-16s would sit on the Moab wheel lots better than the 245-75-16 would
275-70-16 would be pushing it plus its an odd ball size, not many manufacturers make them
