Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting some different rolling stock on my '07 Lib. But here's the challenge: My Liberty is not lifted, and won't be. My wife is handicapped (she had a stroke 5 years ago) and has a hard time getting into anything that sits any higher than my stock Liberty. That being said, I'm thinking about something in a 15" Soft 8's, and am wondering if I could go with an 8" width? Since I can't go with a large diameter, I'd like to achieve a more aggressive stance via. width rather than height. Any idea if I can go with a 8" wide wheel, and if so, max size tire for width? Thank you for any input! |

Your issues are going to be backspacing since its going to be hard to find anything less than 4 inches, then and 8 inch wide wheel will really mess you up, so short answer No a good idea. Even with a 7 inch wheel it will rub when turning. Plus more than likely its sagged some so makes it even worse. Also the size tire you could run unlifted on a 8 inch wide wheel would have the beads pulled way apart. best is to stay with stock wheels and 245-70-16s and call it good |

I tried to put on stock rims of a TJ on my KJ when i got them, you can see pics there -> http://www.jeep4fun.at/jeepforum/viewto ... =6&t=33005 i had already fitted spacer of 30mm/side (2,5"/axle) but it was to close to the brake caliper...  bye, samse |

Thanks for the replies! Right now the stock wheels are 17's and I'm running 245/65/17's. I only get very minor rubbing on a sharp turn with suspension compression, and I can live with that. I was hoping to swap the O.D. for width, and there must be some trade-off compromise that's better than stock +1. |

Unlifted, then no not really, many have tried but results are not good |
