I have an 06 CRD with the SelecTrak NV242 transfer case. It needs new front tires - badly. But I am extremely cash limited right now and can only really afford 2 new tires - and no, the fronts won't make it until next paycheck. AND the existing tires are 225's, so I have no desire to put 2 new 225's on. I know that 4wd with different sized tires is a bad idea, but if I keep it in 2wd would that be ok for a while? My impression is that the front driveshaft is disengaged while in 2wd, so the different sizes shouldn't matter. But I'm also not particularly 4wd savvy. |

Are they 225 75 16s? Those are a very common size and easily found on Craigslist. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk |

the drive shaft is always in gauged to the front diff, if the front tires are turning the shaft is.. the disconnect is in the t-case . I do believe you can do this , just don't put it 4wd or you'll be finding a new t-case. my opinion. |

IF you think you have to do this you could remove the front drive shaft BUT that would be the only way |
