Duratrac's you won't be disappointed. Rotate and they will last. I've never run a better "allround" tire.

I’m planning to buy new tires again in June 2015. I have listed the tires in order from the lowest to highest price. I did not shop around for prices; the prices were extracted from a quick google search. There are a lot of good tires in this batch, so I’m predicting that this will be a tough decision. I want to narrow down the options each month and choose the final tire by June 1st. I’m currently running the Firestone Designation on the KJ. You could run new wheels and go with 31x10.5r15's on a 15x7 with 4" of BS and have zero rub. If not I'd go with Duratracs again in a heart beat. |

I have Destination A/T on my ride, their pretty good in mud and rocks, but suck on ice and snow compared to my stock bald tires. the duratracs are pretty meaty, and do a very slight number on your mileage. |

Here's how I see it: Discoverer A/T3 Pros: I like the tread pattern, and the tire is affordable. Cons: Doesn't have a built-in rim protector, less aggressive square shoulder design, is not snow rated, and has no sidewall traction (less aggressive in appearance). DuraTacs Pros: Has a built-in rim protector, has stepped shoulder blocks, is snow rated, and has sidewall traction (aggressive appearance and functional). Cons: I don't particularly like the tread pattern, and it's a little more expensive. |

I have the Destination A/T on my Ram and KJ. I think they do pretty well on packed snow roads and fresh snow up to 4 inches deep. The ride quality is good and the tire holds up well to UV rays. From my experience, the Destination A/T doesn't do real well in mud due to it's tighter tread pattern. The Cooper A/T3 has a wider gaps in-between some the tread which is why I think they rank so high in off-road tests. I like the Destination A/T on my truck since the tread pattern is wider due it being a much taller tire. But the pattern is too tight on a smaller sized tire. |

I have the AT3's (245/75/16 Load range E) and I think I'm about to purchase the Duratracs. Maybe my expectations are to high but I got stuck in my back yard last year in about 4-6" of snow (Before the front TruTrac). I had to air down to 15lbs and dig the jeep out 3 times with a shovel just to go 50ft on an almost level area. |

If Toyo made the Xtreme version in the "P" rated Toyo A/T2, then I would highly consider them. But at this point, the DuraTrac is looking better and better. |

Alright, I've decided to go with the 245/70/R17, P rated, DuraTrac. I'll called my local Goodyear dealer to see what they are selling for. Kyle (I'm adding his name for my notes) said they are $187 per tire, but they have a promotion running from February 12th - 16th. He took my number and said he would call me on February 12th. He wasn't sure what the promotion would be, but guaranteed there would be a discount on the DuraTrac. If I do the math, that comes out to be $187 X 5 tires = $935. my current Firestone Destination A/T tires still look new. They only have 20,000 miles on them. But since they will be 4 years old in June, I'm going to put the Destination A/T on the Cherokee and put the DuraTrac on the Liberty. |

During the promotion, the DuraTrac has dropped to $173 dollars per tire. That's a $70 cost savings for all 5 tires. The bad news is that they are on backorder until May. I found them at Tire Rack for the same price which included the road hazard protection. Shipping is $110 for all 5 tires. I'm not sure what I want to do. |

You'll like the Duratracs. They hum a little on the highway, but it's to be expected when you get that aggressive. As for which option to go with, you mentioned that you'd pick a winner by June 1st. If the Duratracs are on backorder until May, it doesn't seem like such a big deal. I'd go with the dealer since it's cheaper. BUT, if you need the tires before May, you're going to have to go through Tire Rack. |

I'm leaving the Firestone A/T on the KJ for now. We'll be getting Duratracs for the XJ here pretty soon. I just lost a tire that isn't repairable, so now I'm having to move the 3/32 tread depth spare to the rear. It also had an outer tread puncture over the summer that tire shops wouldn't touch, but I could at least put a plug in it. So far, it seems to be holding air. Out of desperation, I called Tire Rack to learn how their Road Hazard Service Plan worked. Much to my surprise, they network with Goodyear, Firestone, Pep Boys in my area. If the tire is damaged beyond repair, they cut me a check for a new one. I feel much better going this route. I still need to get the new steel rims painted before I can order new tires, so I'm hoping to get that squared away by the end of next week. |
