Okay I'm debating right now I can get a set of rubicon rims for 400 bucks. That's for 5 btw. Now I like the way my graffite wheels look. My first question is do you KJ gurus think that it would be worth the investment or should I stick with the stockers. My next question is: When I lift it I'm going to want the biggest tires I can get without rubbing our looking funny (you know tires to small for the lifted vehicle). Any opnions are very much appreciated.

Are you getting them for looks or do the rims come with the BFG M/t's too? If they are wheels only, I'd say it wouldn't be worth it. There are a lot of other wheels out there that you can buy new for the same price.
I might be a little off, but I really like the RockCrawler wheel look on the KJ, other than that, I really like the look of the Renny Rims that I have on my '02.

If you like the look of your current rims, I'd stay stick with them and buy some steel Rock Crawlers to put M/T's on (should be able to get 5 for under $300). I don't know about you, but my daily commute is 25 miles each way, and that can really take the wear out of some M/T's, so I prefer to have a separate set of wheels to go wheeling with.

If you get the BFG's along with the wheels, go for it, that is definately worth it!

If you like the Rubi wheels and you are willing to pay for them then it it waorth it to you.

I think the rubi wheels look great on a KJ but I am running stock steel wheels with my off orad tires. they really get beat up and when they bend I just beat it back in place with a hammer.

I do feel that having a spare set of wheels and tires is a great way to save wear and tear on the off road tires.. I know it does not look as good to have the street tires but then again the off road tires cost a lot and I hate running them on the street. Hope that helps. Later...Clint

For the most part, I agree with calvin and clint. I too like the Rubi wheels but I don't think their worth the money (especially retail), since in my opinion there are better looking aftermarket wheels than the Rubi's (for less money). I've always heard the smart thing to do was get a lift first, then spec tires.

Since I'm not sure if tires are included w/ the Rubi's, in my opinion, it's a tough call....

I picked up a set of 5 rims and MTRs (w/ less than 5000 miles) for $650. I think you can probably do better.

Okay the guy that's selling the rubicon wheels got the wheels and tires from his buddy that got a rubicon and drove it straight from the dealership to where ever to have the lift put on. The man selling the wheels took the MT/R's off of the wheels and put them on his ZJ. He said he would sell me the wheels for 400 bucks for all 5. I work for a stearship that sells tires so I could get just about any tire I wanted for just over cost. I like the way the rubicon wheels look but I guess what I'm really after is would the extra width of the wheel vs. stock renny wheel give any advantages or would it end up creating more problems ie. rubbing, etc. I think I'm going to go with the MT/R's or comparable on the tires because I don't want to have to switch tires out just to go wheeling. My trips sometimes are very unplanned. :D

I want a set of Rubicons but I don't see myself offroad much and am not getting a lift. My options are limited to tire size because of the clearance and the wider wheel.

What is the average price of Rubicons with or without the MTR's?

Hey mate, you know you can shop Mopar Parts via the internet!....

Example from online catalog;
16"x8", 5 spoke production "MOAB" wheel, sparkle silver clearcoat, with Jeep center cap, must order in sets of 4. (Single wheels order service p/n. # 82208904) $199.99 / each USD (retail).

Now I say go for it! :wink:
