I was in a Goodyear shop with a friend getting some new product for his work truck, and came across some commercial tires I'd not seen before.
Goodyear G971 RSD Armor MAX
Decent looking mud type tread, a bit more aggressive than DuraTracs, and sporting some pretty impressive numbers. Yeah, price too, but they would probably be the last set of tires one would have to buy for their Liberty. They were pretty much stock sized for the Liberties, but the tread height made them almost 31" Diameter, so an OME lift or better would probably work OK. Suckers are heavy enough to lower the center of gravity on these light little buggies too.
Has anyone here tried them? On anything?
That's a heck of a tire!!! 54 lb.s per tire and 80 psi inflation pressure along with costing ~$300 dollars per tire.
A set
should last a lifetime! A Jeep probably would never wear them out anyway!
But I bet they would ride rough as all get out!
Some, but not as different as I thought.
Duratracs E Rating, 2680lbs @ 80psi 42lbs wt. $800/set + M&B
ArmorMax E Rating, 2680lbs @ 80psi 52lbs wt. $1342/set + M&B
You're probably right about the ride, since the 10lbs different per tire is most likely more steel and a more dense compound.
