Do you set the same tire pressure on larger tires as stock tires? I have 245 75r16. I am not sure if they take a higher pressure than what is listed on the door jam. |

This has drawn some discusssions down in the tire section The traditional method of determining correct tire pressure is to take a piece of chalk - draw a line straight across the tire tread - drive a short distance (between 2-3 wheel revolutions and around the block) - if the center of the chalk line disappears 1st - your tire pressure is too high - if the outside edges disappear 1st your pressure is too low - try for the highest pressure where the chalk clears all the way across the tire - that should cause the tire surface to contact across the entire surface. (if one of the edges clears first - get the wheels aligned) |

That's a great way to do it. Around here 38-40 seems to work on the mtr's for me. |
